I just try play them and fiddle around with settings until I have a good balance between visuals and performance, sad I know.
For example I know that I got a 4 GB RAM, Intel Core 2 Duo 2.53 GHz, graphics card is a 4800 series...dont know if its a 4870 or 4890 :P
Sucks that you have to upgrade your PC every six months, right? I think Isomac is still rocking a 8800GT. Time to upgrade!
I am no graphical whore that has to have the best visual and perfomance.
Like I said, if I can have a good balance and be happy about it, I am doing so.
And game to game, engine to engine is different, some games with their engine demands alot, some not really, not all of them is Crysis.
For my standards, its still running great and looks great.
It's a bit of a bummer that modern games are giving you fewer and fewer options for tweaking their performance though.
Those requirements are higher than the minimum for Crysis Warhead, which is somewhat surprising, but then again the minimum requirements for Warhead included the 6800GT and I don't understand why anyone would even bother at that point.
Got better visuals but yet still had good enough perfomance.
And I agree, some games these days dont have enough graphics options, even if they do, its mostly on/off.
But I do think I have 4870, its good...it does its job, which is running modern games good so we can enjoy.
I also agree that its nonsense the whole argument of "upgrading your PC every few months". I didnt buy this PC with gaming in mind and yet all I did was buy the best graphics card I could afford and that fits in PC tower.
The tower isnt designed for gaming and the new cards are quite big, so I know that after the card I got now, I can't upgrade it anymore because it wouldnt fit.
So I have my standards, and I am not planning on buying any new PC or whatever just for PC gaming.
Once its done its done, but I doubt its anytime soon.
But I do hope the whole "Crysis 2 is the same or less demanding Crysis 1 was" is true :)
I guess we have to wait and see with the demo.
The suit powers in Crysis had Armor, speed, strength and cloak.
I am sure cloak power is on one button with its seperate ability.
But what about speed, armor and strength? Are they all combined or something?
I noticed that sometimes the players sprint super quick, but then goes into armor with normal sprint speed but have armor, now I dont know if armor and strength is combined or not?
Anyone care to explain this to me? :)
Summary: There is no speed or strength power anymore, the game does it for you. Armor is still a separate ability. It's been noobified. Frozpot thinks it's good, and I think it's shitty.
You can't prone or lean anymore either.
You said the game does it for me, but what if I want to sprint normally and no super speed?
And so Armor and Cloak is in seperate buttons that you can activate manually, good.
PS. We discussed the handicap of this yes, but I dont think we talked about what buttons and what powers does what and if there is a combination (if any) in Crysis 2, thats why I am asking.
Is that the difference between normal sprint and super speed?
What button do you press for sprinting? isnt it like CoD, press in the left analog stick and let go and just hold up to run or is it like the previous Crysis were its the shoulder buttons? (which I disliked).
I forget the default mapping, but I think it was on the thumbstick.
Hmm, well I got a more clear describtion of the powers for Crysis 2 now, thanks :)

Oooh, Profound, isn't it?

I have not heard anything from this guy, except the trailers and demo menu, sounds fantastic!
I found this information on Hans Zimmer's site.
Scroll all the way down until you see posters and watch under Crysis 2 image.

I am very excited about Battlefield 3 and I have only seen some poor quality scans for it lol...I think all the delays hurt the hype factor. But anyway I guess I will pick this during a steam sale or something
Looks like someone leaked a beta version of this game. That's lame, and this aint a great screenshot, but that image quality (in DX9 and on high) murders the Xbox demo already. Moar!
Would it kill them to release some official PC media?
What's with texture filtering in that picture? Ugh.
