And what you said about GTHD's lighting I think perfectly fits what I think of the FM2 lighting.........
"If i look at the car the lighting looks almost so static. Totally regardles if the car turns around the corner or turns around by 360° or whatever, it always looks like the light source are always shining on the same places of the car (there are only some shadows)."

I have seen no confirmation of that, if anything I remember them saying they were going to have damage. But yeah, that would suck because the game would be too stuck in the past to be considered AAA much less competition to Forza

Hey carb from where you get that GT5 wont have damage. From what I remember, maybe im mistaking, they guys of Poliphony said that GT5 will have damage.

Honestly, Polyphony needs to do major work on physics before they add semi-frivolous features like vehicle damage... which probably means they won't. ;)

Stop kidding! F1 uses some reflections on the hood, but the overall lighting is awful. Look at the hood, it's "always" the same brightness, there is no lightsource moving around or just making one part more brighter than the other. You just see some environment reflection with the same opacity. Sure, there are some nice sunhines through the cloud, but this has almost nothing to do with real lighting and how it applys to the objects.

Still in replay camera the cars just don't have any shadow or something. Really anything looks so homogenous. on the whole car.

Forza 2 is has without any doubt the most realistic lighting up to now.

nope...trust me , no damage in gt5, i will find the link and will post back some one from polyphony or sony have gone on record saying that there wil be no damage in gt5

and to others...forget GTHD and its ONE FREEKIN CAR on track at any one time....lets se what GT5 can do.....because the GT series can ony dream of doing what forza is doing with regards to physics and online and car customisation and car damage, and the graphics sure are sweet .....and there is going to be NO damage model in GT5,

Why in the world do people insist on going on about the one car thing? GTHD is a rushed demo.. why don't you wait until GT5 is actually ya know.. revealed before you give them a hard time?

And did someone just call F1:CE's lighting awful? What in the world? Where are the beautiful volumetric lights in Forza 2? (unless that's sarcasm -- it's getting pretty hard to tell around here)

What's with all these ridiculous comparisons anyway?

"From our standards, what other games are doing is "simplified damage". You know how [anal] we are when making our games... we would want to simulate every single dent differently."

That's pretty sad because, well............that's not a good excuse. The most simplified damage is no damage at all. No damage allows for much more detailed car models, but leaves realism completely out. And why bother about calculating dents when you can't calculate the physics first.

Bah. I guess if they did damage they would no longer have those 700+ cars, and so I guess they prefer content instead of realistic gameplay. It makes no sense since they call it a simulation but anyways.......

EDIT: And that's not to say FM2's damage is not simplified, but at leas they try. It helps balancing things out. You crash, you are out of the race. In GT you crash and the game becomes pinball and you actually take advantage of that--where's the realism? If they plan on somehow slowing down your car after a crash, it would be even more ridiculous and even less realistic now. The reality is that they are stuck in the past, and simply keep on adding content, but not improving the gameplay that much.

GTHD has better more natural lighting. Thats just the fact. Forza has better physics, sound, sense of speed, and looks so much fucking fun with the steering wheel. cant wait:)
