Wow!! Check out this vid when Greenawalt goes into debug mode and pauses the game. Damn it looks good!

That's really cool. Im still missing a bit of the sensation of speed thought. I want fast, really fast ;)

No, that is not yet gameplay. I watched several other videos before saying what I said, when you are actually playing, the interior is mostly almost completely hidden. The video I posted shows it best because it looks like it's direct-feed.

looks pretty "gameplay" to me, i guess we'll just have to wait and see, October 27th cant come soon enough!!

That was the fancy intro before a race before you can actually control anything. It probably wouldn't be too difficult to make that look better than it would during actual control.

Apparently Polyphony Digital (creators of GT) were taking notes from the Forza 3 E3 demo as well.

Perhaps the most surprising to me was when a couple developers from Gran Turismo makers Polyphony Digital came by to personally get hands-on with Forza 3, all the while taking careful notes, examining our UI system, shooting photos, and directly asking us some pretty interesting questions. The reason I say I was personally surprised was because PD aren’t generally known as a studio to acknowledge that there are racing games that exist beyond their own. Which could explain why the GT franchise has been so stagnant in the racing genre since GT3. So it seems competition is good for the consumer after all. I know for a fact that Turn 10 will never stop pushing racing games to the next level.

Anyone else find the forza developers kinda... cocky and rude? All these quotes i've been hearing how they say they "don't have any competitors", that "polyphony has dropped the ball and we're picking it up for them," and now with this Che guy giving away free DLC cars to people who vote for Forza as the better of the two games.

Is this all necessary? I really don't like how they handle their business promoting this game.

I could care less how much trash a dev talks these days. There are times where I may say out loud or think something like they could sure do well to tone it down a bit and not be so insulting of other devs, but ultimately what it all boils down to is if your game delivers, how much trash you talked is irrelevant. I don't think many will avoid picking up an awesome game solely because the devs like to run their mouth, at least I wouldn't if the game is actually good.

In the case of turn 10's attitude, they sorta have reason to be cocky currently. the Forza series right now is the top sim racing series out there. It may not sell like Gran Turismo does, but there's no question that Forza 2 is the best sim racer you can find on consoles and when Forza 3 releases this October it will take over that title. The craziest part is that even after Forza 3 releases, there will still be a wide variety of ways in which other racers still can't hold a candle to Forza 2. The new GT is on the way and we don't know all PD has up it's sleeves with that one, but for what turn10 accomplished with the Forza series, they have reason to be cocky, and most important, competition is good for everybody. It's possible we may not have seen damage in GT were it not for Turn 10's efforts with Forza. The new GT is going to be much better off as a result of this intense competition, you can count on that.

If you really understand the nuts and bolts of sims then there really is no comparison. Graphics maybe but that is about the least important aspect of a sim.

They were cocky before in some of their PR, even up till when they got caught changing the description of the game on Xbox.com on the sly to remove references to features they had to cut for Forza 2.

Now they are actually close to delivering on some of that they're just a bit cockier. As long as they deliver this time and it pokes Polyphony a bit then fine but I imagine a lot of their fanbase see the brashness for what it is.

One other thing I'd like to see them improve on for the next game in the series is expand the car number to 12 or 16, but at least 12.

The more the merrier and it will make your race more rewarding, but I assume all the stuff they got going on in the game in regards to their physics simulation, damage among other things may be too difficult to do with too many more cars. Guess we'll see though.

Anything coming from Che Chou should be taken as straight up bullshit even when they are well known facts. If it comes from Che, it's most likely shit.

Like someone else said, Turn10 is bad bad bad at PR. They talk a lot of crap, and this "community manager" they have is downright awful. Can be cocky as hell, and even unprofessional at times.

So we pretty much have legit confirmation now that cockpit view is 30fps from credible sources. I'd be fine with that for release, but boy do I hope they can get it up to 60 because this game looks so unbelievable at 60. It would suck for one of the coolest views in the game to be stuck at 30.

Wouldn't want any visual compromises done to get the cockpit at 60fps. Right now I'm really digging the meaty smoke effects they got going on behind the cars when they brake, peel out or drive in the grass. I'm also surprised as to how clean the game looks during gameplay like it has 4XAA or something.

Apparently the E3 demo build is a month old and they are still optimizing for release, but I hope they make it in time without any sacrifices. It would be one of the most obvious of improvements for a Forza 4 :)

And as much as I like the detail in the shot below, I think some of the texturing--such as on the wheel--makes it look a bit too computer generated?

Anyways, this game is looking hot. By the way, they are including the circuit used for MotoGP events as well as the long version of Le-Mans, good.

According to Kazunori from Polyphony, they will include weather and day/night races for GT5........now when? From what they've said they are doing EVERYTHING (except Forza-style customization) this time around, yet they can't show anything? Come on.

I'm assuming we won't see Weather and night races till next game.

I have doubts we'll see a pit crew till next gen. Not because it isn't fully possible, but because I don't think they'll ever make it a priority right now.
