Bungie borrowed from MW2 for Reach though. Everyone is. You can see it in all the fps coming out.

How exactly? Loadouts? Yeah, Modern Warfare 2 totally invented that. Until Halo has ridiculous, game breaking perks and a billion weapons that you can't use until you gain enough experience, I'm still going to insist that Bungie is doing their own thing. With no sign of "stopping power" or "juggernaut" in site, I think we're pretty safe for now. This game doesn't have thing one in common with MW2 as far as I'm concerned. Loadouts and AA remind me more of other, far older FPS games.

I won't deny that Call of Duty has (unfortunately) made leveling up a much more popular aspect of first person shooters though. But.. we've been doing that to some extent in Halo since Halo 2.

I think loadouts in FPS weren't a big trend till COD4/MW2, and without it I don't think it would be in Reach. I don't mind that its in Reach, but I recognize the influence
I wouldn't be surprised if in the full game there were more nods to MW2 in some way as well. Which isn't a bad thing necessarily

CVG Hands-On (Some Spoilers!!)
NIGHTFALL
To ease us into the world of Reach, Bungie chose a stealthy Recon mission set during the dead of night. With just Noble Six (and sniper Jun on point) in action, the emphasis was on the softly, softly approach as we pushed forward into the Covenant dark zone.

Straight away you'll clock the gigantic leap in visual quality from Halos 3 and ODST. Bungie hasn't confirmed 60 frames a second - but it certainly looks that way. It's a lot more fluid than Gears Of War - and in-game action runs as smoothly as Modern Warfare 2. This one would have Marcus Fenix and Captain Price going green around the gills.

Brooding thunderheads crackle with lightning as we knife an unsuspecting Elite Officer using the new third-person assassination mechanic, before capping some fleeing Minor Grunts with our trusty M6G pistol.

Truth be told, this rather funnelled opening feels decidedly more Modern Warfare than Halo, but that soon changes as we stumble upon a Covenant installation and our stealthy approach goes down the swanny...

With Phantom dropships rumbling into view to discharge hordes of baddies (tip: find cover whenever you see one of these titans approaching), the shooting quickly reverted to classic Halo.

Bungie's level design is simply a cut above; the enemy base was relatively compact, yet still crammed with corridors, alcoves and vantage points to exploit. After clearing out the joint, a series first awaits: indigenous creatures! Turning a canyon corner, a detachment of Covenant are being mullered by two gigantic Rancorlike creatures called Guetas, so we sit back and watch the two species duke it out before mopping up the remnants.

GHOST RECON
A Pump Station is our next waypoint, where Recon Team Bravo needs to rescue a posse of human militia pinned down by Jackals and Spec-Ops Elites. It's the purest example yet of a set-piece-that-isn't-a-set-piece; in that despite Bungie ostensibly setting up the scenario, it'll play out entirely differently depending on your tactics, difficulty setting, whether you've got co-op buddies in tow, etc.

The AI on show is simply staggering, a decade of experience and familiarity with the universe right there on screen to test your gaming mettle. It's also a chance to unleash some of our new Armour Abilities - specifically Armour Lock and the hugely handy Sprint - and appreciate just how seamlessly they've been integrated into the gunplay.

Sorry, that's just plain wrong. Classes and customization were big trends in FPS long before Call of Duty 4 came about. Where do you think they got the idea? A little game called Battlefield 2 had a big influence on Call of Duty 4. And that franchise unfortunately took a huge step backwards when it was influenced by the success of MW2. Games like Tribes, Team Fortress, Enemy Territory, etc. all have just as much in common with Halo Reach as it does with Call of Duty--which isn't very much. Bungie has created an environment where there's no kit customization in game, no tiered weapon structure, and no shitty over-the-top perks and upgrades. Simply classes, which have been a really big feature in FPS games for (far) longer than a decade.

So, even if they were influenced by the success of this as a current trend, there's really not much in common between the two games in terms of design. Not much at all.

Considering Spartans start training when they are 5 years old, I'm pretty sure the lady in the dress isn't Kat, Lol. You guys should read the books, they are pretty good...

And some ranks:

It looks like they are going very old school in this regards. You may have a half dozen or so enemies and then 5 or 6 variations of each, some with quite special abilities. It should keep the game fresh--and allow escalating skill. e.g. level 1 some lvl1 Grunts and a medium brute and scale up to the end where they are all Gold Elites.

Bungie Update:
Q. Theater 2.0!

A. The theater experience remains largely unaltered from its already robust predecessor, but we did implement a few choice tweaks and bug fixes. Most notably, you can now rewind Campaign and Firefight Films, just like you can in multiplayer, and all modes will now support Film Clips.
