Why? Postmortem interviews/articles are often an interesting read, when developers are a bit more honest about the game than before the release. He actually flat-out says that they made New Mombasa modular because they didn't have enough resources for unique design. Which makes me even more excited about Reach - what are they going to achieve with 3 years of work and 160+ staff as opposed to 14 months and at most 70 people?

The city was a fucking borefest, they should admit that, lol. I have never been so bored walking through a city, opening the next giant door waiting to see the next generic 'landmark' I had just seen a few steps behind me while being able to interact with absolutely nothing on the way aside from fighting the same grunt I had defeated a million times already....in the same spot.

Damn, that was a long--yet factual--sentence.

Nope, Edge still has to release their magazine, we'll be gettting nothing as big as those 28 screenshots, I'm afraid. I hope we at least see Bungie talking about the game itself in a significant way now that Gameinformer's magazine is out. I hope to hear more about the characters and about what Bungie's plans are for the game as a whole. I'd like to learn more about Noble Six's identity, although we probably won't know proper details regarding Noble Six's identity until we actually have the game in our hands.

Also, I think as far as Bungie is concerned, Gameinformer hasn't been officially released yet, as in not actually available in stores yet, so we may not be seeing those screenshots for quite sometime. Yea, best not to get your hopes up because, not only will GI have to properly release, so will Edge. I'd say it'll be February before you guys get what you're hoping to see from Bungie's website.

No weekly update today. Bungie has decided to focus on a relief effort for Haiti where they donate 100% of profits from Bungie store to help Haiti.

Can't disagree with that, way too many people died there to go about business as usual.

I had dinner at my mother's house this evening, and I couldn't help but feel both guilty and grateful to have my family around me and safe.

Yep, I've been trying to imagine what those people are going through, but in reality, I really can't. I'm going to continue to help out as much as I can though.

I donated $1000 to the red cross. Maybe other donations I'll continue to make in the future won't be as high as the initial one, but I fully intend on making it a steady routine that I adhere to. Now just dropping $1000 on a donation like that will surely set me back some, but then whatever I'll be dealing with won't be anywhere remotely close to what those people are going through over there, so I can't really complain.

Closest experience that I can even remotely compare in my own life to this type of devastation is 9/11 and that was only about 3000 people. The projections for loss of life on this thing are anywhere from 45 to 50,000, possibly even more. That's way too many innocent lives lost way too quickly and it's pretty fucking heart wrenching to consider the fact that there are people who are likely alive right now but stuck under god knows how many amounts of rubble. Had the channel on CNN a bit earlier and saw that doctors were leaving all these people behind in one of those tent like things because the UN told them to leave and only a single doctor stayed behind to try and treat all these people that could easily have been saved, but may not make it because there aren't enough doctors.

At this point, I can't really watch any more of it, but somehow I always end up switching the channel right back to either msnbc or cnn because you feel guilty simply for not paying attention.

Thanks, it's a drop in the bucket though, I'm afraid. It's always good to do something, but somebody could donate up to $1 billion and it probably still wouldn't be able to sufficiently accelerate the shift of conditions over there. What they need more than anything over there is people. With enough manpower, roads can be cleared quicker, potential survivors can be rescued sooner and more aide can get to those who really need it.

Nonetheless, I hope all the countries helping make it a sustained effort and not a short term thing.
