There's a very high probability that it will be the "biggest" exclusive this year in terms of sales, and I wouldn't put it past Halo to out-do another "me too!" Call of Duty game.

In terms of awesomeness it's easily going to be the best console game of the year too!
What PC game is going to beat it?

Maybe I am not big of a Halo fan to see it through beta footages and features sheets.
It doesn't take a huge fan to see that Halo has the competition beat in just about every way sans graphics.

In terms of content and features, maybe nothing. I do think that games like Call of Duty and Battlefield play much better on the PC than their console counterparts though, and I greatly prefer KB+M controls too. It's not to say that there are better games, but rather games I might end up enjoying more because of the limitations put on console games. So while I enjoy Halo (a lot!), and I appreciate how well adapted it is for the platform it's on, I still might have more fun with some PC games in other ways. That is all.

If only you could be more specific in the original post :)

Interms of biggest "exclusive" title this year, yeah I agreel.

But dont you guys think Starcraft 2 has the potential to beat it though?

PS. I love the CG for Starcraft 2.

In terms of hype and momentum etc I'd say Reach is gonna be the biggest game of 2010. It might not sell as well as a multiplat CoD game, but I'm guessing it will outsell anything in terms of 360 sales.

Just about everyone I know who played the Reach beta loved it and had a much more postive reaction than most betas/demos leave people with so I'm guessing it's safe to say REach is gonna be pretty huge.

Starcraft 2 will be huge though.

Maybe the wrong word, since it technically means "without," but I mean in every way except its visuals.

Fair enough. Although come to think of it, Civ V might be bigger in some regards than Halo ;]

As far as the sales stuff goes - maybe Nintendo will drop some bomb at E3 like NSMBWii last year or maybe GT5 will be released and it still might be strong after all these years... As far as multiplatform games go, RDR might be on its way towards selling 10M copies, seeing as it's #2 on XBL, COD and FIFA should also break 10M. Halo has really strong competition and let's not forget that COD stole its thunder back in 2007, so I think it'll be good if it beats Halo 3 in corresponding time period (8.1M copies shipped in 2007).

Well, that's sorta what I was implying by saying "the competition," but for my tastes it's pretty much a universal statement since it's one of my favorite genres anyway.

Aha, well Halo does many things right for a console shooter, probably does it best (played up to Halo 3).

I think it will sell pretty well considering how anticipated it is ever since Starcraft 1.

That's definitely going to be a huge factor in how fast it sells. Just look at how well Bad Company 2 (a neutered console port!) did on the PC, simply because fans were starved for new content. That's even more true for the Starcraft audience, I think, and that's a bigger crowd to begin with. When you consider how popular it is in some parts of the world, well, I think it's going to be the biggest PC game in a long time.

I have never underestimated how much Starcraft 2 will sell considering how big the franchise is on the PC even with its only the first sequal to the original and not another expansion to the first LOL.

The last few weeks have been a whirlwind of madness because we’re bringing this giant game in for a landing. I won’t lie, there’s been some turbulence and some areas of the game are coming in hot, but we’ve got the landing gear down, the runway is visible, and the engines are throttling back.

In the midst of this 24/7 period of crunch for the game, we are heading for ZBR (zero bug release). We have a huge team of testers who are hammering on the game in every way possible and logging tons of bugs about things that are broken, look bad or finding exploits that make the game just plain silly. Then, the development team is tasked with triaging all of these bugs every day and determining which ones are things we must fix and how we should prioritize them over other bugs. The goal is that our fix rate for bugs is higher than the incoming rate, so we can crush all these nasty critters by ZBR. It’s tough work, but ultimately this kind of diligence on our part means that you all get to have a better gameplay experience when you have it in your hands this Fall.

That said, we are still having fun with last minute “fixes” (which some could argue are really new features – shhh, don’t tell Harold, our CEO). For instance, I just came in today and met with our campaign design lead, Chris Opdahl, and he showed me something he and the engineers cooked up yesterday with vehicles vs. biped physics that I’ve been begging to see happen since I started Halo1 back in late 90s. I won’t spoil the fun by telling you what it is, but needless to say, it will make you a very happy player to finally see this.

Depends what you mean by sales. In Asia, where this game will sell like hot cakes people don't typically buy the game in the traditional sense. Usually they buy pre-paid time cards from Internet cafes. Whilst in Korea things will be fine, the Chinese authorities will likely make sure that Starcraft 2 doesn't come out over there this year anyway.

Halo: Reach could possibly sell 10m this year if the marketing is right. Halo 3 did 8.1m
