Nah. The reason why the Japanese didin't like it because it was a difficult game.

Here's a pic I took of the game. And before anyone complains, my TV settings are different thats why the screens look like that. Its amazing once you realize how much you can optimize the screen depending on what you like.

Blim's direct pics are NEVER representative of what any of the games look like when they are running on a nice HDTV. The direct pics may supposedly show "the truth" as some like to say, but on a really good HDTV the details and colors really pop in a way that to me is never properly represented in any screenshot. The same applies for how good the lighting looks as well.

Take these direct feed DMC4 grabs for instance.

The DMC4 demo looks significantly better than any of the stuff here when I'm playing the game on my HDTV. The same is true for Gears of War. I happen to think Gears is easily one of the uglier looking games in direct feeds whereas it looks pretty stunning on an HDTV. The demon and Nero look significantly better. I see details on those 2 characters on my HDTV that flat out isn't present in the screenshots.

It's one of the primary reasons I think AC is one of the best looking games this gen because no direct feed video or picture can do that game justice. It needs to be seen on a nice HDTV to be believed and I've yet to see a single screenshot anywhere (unless it's an offscreen HDTV shot) that remotely comes close to how most 360 titles look when running on my HDTV.

So you can save the "custom made rose tinted glasses" nonsense because you don't need to have special eyes to clearly be able to tell that most direct feeds be they screenshot or video look like crap compared to what the game looks like running on a nice HDTV.

Lost Odyssey on my HDTV looks better than that shot wuffyx posted. Do you think the stuff showcased on wuffyx's shot is fake and for whatever reason isn't actually there or that he doctored the picture? Because everything I see in that pic is not only present and accounted for on my HDTV it looks much more vibrant.

You guys trying to tell me that the games you guys play on your hdtv looks as washed out and devoid of color or detail as many of the direct feed shots seem to be? None of the 360 titles you guys own look noticeably superior to their screenshotsr when being viewed on your HDTV as opposed to in some screenshot?

If not then I suppose that's your loss :)

From what I've seen one of the best looking titles in existence right now when being viewed via a direct feed pic is DMC4 and even that can't match the quality on display when it's being viewed on an HDTV.

The best way to put it is to say that there is an OBVIOUS loss of quality when going to a direct feed shot.

I just ordered one copy of LO :D Interesting to see how good this is. It's kinda shame because I wanted to get The Witcher :( Oh well I get it after this then :D I would have been a fool to pass this offer, more than 20€ cheaper than what it would be in the store.

Will be interested to see what people think of this game.

No matter what I try I never get see as much detail in the textures of certain things as I would see on my television.

Nero's clothes (the coat especially) or burial including the environments in the first part of the demo just showcase a lot of detail that I never find in screenshots.

There is a significant amount of detail or wear and tear that would show up in the textures of these games that so easily goes unnoticed in screens. I would go as far as to say that alongside Uncharted DMC4 has some of the absolute best looking textures I've seen in a next gen title and all of that doesn't show up in direct feeds.

In Lost Odyssey's case I would say screens, to a greater degree, do the game a great disservice. Then again.. that seems to be the case for a lot of UE3 titles. That doesn't mean I don't look at screens and love what I see only that I think for me personally going from a screenshot to actually running the game on my tv is a major difference.

In lost odyssey some of the environments, from screens, look very ugly, washed out or not quite as good as I feel they do when I'm looking at it running on my HDTV.

Or perhaps maybe the problem is that I would need to actually mess with the contrast or something on direct feeds via photoshop to more properly recreate the look that I get on my tv?

I personally think a lot of people will like it, but I still expect it to get totally annihilated in reviews. Not due to the quality, but because for some odd reason reviewers no longer have the stomach for games of this nature.

Played for 4 hours im really enjoying it.

Graphics are really nice, music sounds great, gameplay is fun.

The dreams are really cool, and sad :(

I loved FFX, and im loving this :D

Will add you when I turn my 360 on some time this week end :D

Game is bit hard... Had to try 3 times to kill the Blue Serpent :P
Really enjoying it so far. And looks like will be quite big game :)
