YAY! OPtimus is BACK!!! :D

Anyway, I am in disk Two now and I am LOVING IT! Likeable characters, Seth and Jensen are AWESOME ... Kaim bores from time to time with his no talking much bit but sometimes he truly shines when you can see his human side kicking off when with Mack and Cooke

Thats not really true though, you forget that the PS2 had 100 million consoles out there the PS3 is not in the same league not even close, so sales will be totally different.

Many JRPG fans are waiting for FF13 before they buy the PS3.

Add to that the fact the 360 has a much higher software adoption rates I would say the 360 is just as good a platform as the PS3 for JRPG's at this point, thing will change no doubt.

You're serious? Attach rates for the 360 are excellent, just not for the jRPG's MS keep releasing. Traditionally, these games sell excellently in Japan, and merely ok elsewhere, if Japan sales for these two mistwalker games are anything to go by, these games are major flops.

The 360 will simply never be successful in Japan, and to keep making games that almost solely appeal to that market, especially with the kinds of budgets these games probably have, sounds ludicrous to me. Conversely, the PS3 WILL be far more successfull in Japan, and already is. It MAKES sense to make games exclusively for that audience.

You're serious? Attach rates for the 360 are excellent, just not for the jRPG's MS keep releasing. Traditionally, these games sell excellently in Japan, and merely ok elsewhere, if Japan sales for these two mistwalker games are anything to go by, these games are major flops.

Well pretty much I had a very fucked up pain in my stomach area that literally made me incapable of moving even my hands at one point, but then it passed and for like 3 hours I was totally fine. So after about 3 hours I get in my car to go pick up my nephew who was over at a friend's house and the pain starts again out of nowhere and I totally lose my ability to properly control the car on the Whitestone Bridge over here in NY. Luckily my nephew wasn't with me at the time and I came out of that with just a cut on my left arm (since the driver side window broke) From there I had to be taken to the hospital, not because of the crash, but because of the pain I was in.

Got to the hospital and they found out it was my appendix. It was taken out, but even afterwards I'm still feeling a bit shitty so they are keeping me awhile longer till they run all the necessary tests.

The problem with your post is that you focus mainly on Japan. If you look at where the real growth of the industry is its in outside Japan.

Another thing, the PS3 is NOT the best platform for the Japanese, its the DS. Japan is turning away from console gaming in favor of portables when it comes to general gaming. Even Square Enix has acknowledged this by releasing Dragon Quest 9 on the DS and not the PS3. Note that Dragon Quest is the best selling JRPG franchise in Japan. Not to mention, there are a lot more DS titles being announced in Japan rather than PS3 games. Other than DS check out the long list of mobile phone offerings these Japanese companies have. Traditionally, these games would have gone to the consoles but not anymore.

Personally, I don't think the PS3 will overtake the DS in Japan. Not with the price of the DS and its fashionable portability. Of course, Sony can't stand against Nintendo in marketing in Japan. The main platform of the Japanese is the DS, it is in that regard that the PS3 has failed. It doesn't even matter anymore if the 360 wins in Japan because the DS is the clear winner.

The PS3 may have won the battle against the 360 in Japan, but it has lost the war against the DS and the handheld trend.

Makes no difference BD has sold half a million worldwide which isn't bad, and im sure LO will get to around 750'000 to a million.

Not ever game has to be a million seller to be deemed successful ya know.

The point I was trying to make was that something like FF10 sold 3 million in Japan, 2.7 million in America and 2.19 million for the rest of the world, so it obvious that it sells better outside of Japan.

OMG .... I hope you get better real soon! The appendix can be a real a pain. A friend of mine had to be operated too last month.

Well, I think the reason you're facing opposition in this is that while you're right, we've been over that so many times it's understood. Beyond that we're mostly rationalising and hoping RPGs on the 360 will start doing better.

I watched the latest 1up Show, and I've got to say, they made the game sound more interesting than I previously thought. Gamefly has failed me with their new game shippings. Lost Odyssey ships from them on the 14th, so I should get it...a week after it's released on the 12th.

Checked out a couple sites and saw the 1up show like Phath and yea I'm pretty surprised to see them saying such positive things about the game even went as far as to say the gooch has redeemed himself (as if he needed to :P)

Now I am in the teample of Enlightment. This is f****** cool and hard place, and I got level up after each battle

Kaim, Sarah, Seth and Ming - 74 level, Sed - 72 level. Other - in reserve (42-49 level)

They've always had that. Normally they'll update their systems at the last minute, like the day before, and ship it out on the 12th(Tues). Well that's how they use to always do it.

Just finished Disc 2! does that mean I am at 50% of the game now becasue it seems like Disc 2 didnt last very long at all ..... I dont want the game to be over yet! :D I am enjoying it so much. It's disappointing though that there are now summons or overdrives for example .... Oh well Lost Odyssey 2 Hopefully! :D

I have ONE BIG worry though .... my 360 crashed once .... THIS IS SOOOOO NOT THE TIME for it to break on me! I am telling you the 360's problem is the freaking dvd drives! they are just rubbish!

Please dont die on me now .... I am still under warranty but I dont want the console to die now ....

I have played around 10 hours now, still on the first disk and I can say this is my new favourite JRPG. Before this it was a tie between FF7/10. It just got great characters, really awesome graphics and even better music :D and I love that game is turn based. I think random encounters are done just about right, not too many not too few.

I'm surprised as to how many of my friends have picked up the japanese or european version of this game and have the intention to buy the USA version. I'm even more surprised as to how many people have all these positive things to say about it. I enjoyed it a great deal and thought the game was fantastic so it's nice to see others having a good time with it as well.

It really does seem as if a lot of people are appreciating Lost Odyssey and giving it a chance in a way that didn't necessarily happen for Mistwalker's first title and that's good to see and I hope it translates into a sales success.
