All I was saying was, Activision were happy to drop it before. If they really wanted a PC COD3, they would have got Treyarch to make one. I can see it going either way but they clearly don't see the PC version as it stands as something worth investing in because they clearly haven't done so this time around.
MW2 peaked at 86,032 concurrent players on Steam today.. which indicates that they sold many more copies than that. Less than a million, still? Perhaps.. but it will easily break into the seven digits, which should be more than enough to make it worthy investment.
If that were the case, no game with any sort of budget would ever break even on the PC. That's clearly not happening.
Why they have chosen this path is a matter of conjecture. I'm inferring from what the publisher's actions are, not how viable it may or may not be in practice because we don't have data, like you say.
Activision are interested in scale & big numbers. I'm just saying it wouldn't surprise me if they dropped the PC SKU if this one did horribly. There are plenty of reasons however, why they would still put one out regardless, so like I say 50:50.

On the other side, the respawns are HORRIBLE. I can't tell how many times I killed someone, he instantly respawned just a few feet away from me and killed me. It also happened the other way around, too (spawned directly behind someone who killed me quite a few times). Pretty entertaining, depending on which side of the barrel you stand in the end.
And the amount of times someone spawned right behind or beside me is countless, it's really REALLY pisspoor.

TDM in Call of Duty is just the illusion of a team gametype. It's basically FFA with friendly targets. The spawns ruin it.. it's literally one of the worst implementations of team deathmatch I've ever played.
And that's not even considering the random campfest.
S&D, HQ, Sabotage.. all significantly more fun and rewarding. I suspect CTF is too.
Based on the # of posts in this thread it is clear you have more interest in this game than anyone else! :P
But seriously, maybe spin off the IW Love/Hate to another thread and use this one for the game?
Or start a new threadfor the game / matching up with other players...

I'm not really interested in repeating myself anymore. Everyone knows that I think IW sold their gaming souls to Activision.. but if there's relevant discussion about the game that I feel I can take part in, or information about the PC version that I think is interesting.. then I don't see why I can't post it.
I'll try to be nice and pretend that death streaks, air support, and unlimited explosives are awesome though.. if it makes ya happy ;)

Now that there's no user control over game types, this game desperately needs a "no perks" play list... no perks and limited attachments. Ideally you could use a more limited subset of perks or attachments in custom games too... rather than the tweaking being limited to "no perks" or "all perks."
No perks may not seem appealing to the masses, but I don't need excessive RPG progression tacked on to great combat to keep it compelling. I mean.. Halo gets an MLG play list.. so why not? "Hardcore" is no substitution. HC is for people who think that reaction should be rewarded over aim.

Some things are clear from simple observation. It doesn't take experience to know that refillable tubes, claymores, and frags are going to be detrimental to the game (especially since tubes and claymores are detrimental to the game to begin with).. or that hit boxes have grown in size to compensate for aim and lag.
I'm sure it's still a great pub game! I'm not too proud to admit that I do feel like I'm missing out.
But whatever.. carry on.

Primary class:
I play with the Vector submachine gun with a red-dot or holographic scope and a silencer
Secondary I use the m93 3 round burst machine pistol with a silencer and greater bullet penetration.
As a Sniper I us the WA2000 with Thermal scope and silencer...
Secondary: M93 silenced + FMJ

Using a silencer and heartbeat sensor on the FAL. Will swap the HBS for something different (or just another perk other than Bling) once people start using Ninja. Once I have a M16 I'll be using it exclusively.
