—Infiltration is a "pure" stealth mode for one to two players where the second you're spotted, you lose.
—Last Stand is a survival mode where one to two players have to protect a warhead within a level from a group of AI that want to set it off.
—Face Off throws out co-op and pits two players against both each other and a lot of hostile AI within a level.

This however looks brilliant, from the single player to the completely separate co-op mode. The plot of the co-op story though... erm *cough* 24 Season 3 *cough*
But granted the other modes do look like a lot of fun.

You have two people playing as Spies who have objectives like hacking terminals, or stealing something and trying to get it back to an extraction point. They have a weird stun gun thing that electrifies people, disables motion sensors, cameras, mines, etc... smoke grenades, chaff grenades, flashbangs, and a few other pieces of equipment. Playing against them are two Mercs. They have guns, mines, spy traps, etc...and have to kill the spies. Oh, and both sides have special vision modes that have their pros and cons. It was SUCH a fun and rewarding multiplayer mode. Easily my favourite multiplayer game mode of any game ever.

as long as the game makes it clear that you're invisible, then i'm happy.
read that the prologue mode will be split screen too (w00t) although no word on the other modes, although i'd assume they would be if prologue mode is.
I think it's highly annoying and completely overused. I mean, anytime you pass through a patch of shadow, the screens flickers from full colour to "ancient TV screen mode" to full colour again. Can't stand it!
It'd better be an option or they can shove this game up that place where the sun don't shine...

thankfully they've said they think the green night vision may end up in there anyway, so i'm more then happy. as i said, as long as i know i'm invisible, and as long as there isnt some dumb icon telling me so (seriously, we've progressed past HUD's now, cinematic experince FTW), i'm happy.
if anything, the thing that still looks completely out of place and stupid is the last known possition, for a game that does look so cinematic, i fail to see how they thought a glowing image of yourself was ever a good idea (in the walkthrough the player even turns round and tries to shoot his own last known possition). it was fine and less distracting in chaos theory where they'd simply shoot or go searching in the erea they last saw you. once again it looks like ubisoft are trying to take away any reason for the player to observe and think for themselves, instead ubisoft are doing what they do best, make the game retard friendly.

As for your other points, I'd prefer some other visual "clue" as to whether I'm invisible or not. I mean, if you play the game properly, you should be hidden in the shadows atleast 80% of the time. Which, in effect, means that you're playing a black/white game 80% of the time. I mean, it's 2010 (by that time) for god sakes and I don't have a proper expensive TV so I can play games in black/white again.
But most importantly it makes the game look bland as hell. I mean, they have these fantastic visuals with an otherwise beautiful colourscheme and it's all being thrown out of the windows because of this crappy "feature". And to me it's hardly an improved cinematic experience.
I really don't get it, honestly...
