I have no idea how I would make it through most mornings without the amazingly sextastic beverage known commonly as coffee.
I actually plan on trying coffee this Tuesday to see what all the fuss is about, and to complete the experience, some donuts! Don't worry, I've tried donuts plenty of times before. Imagine if i were new to those! :)
Never tried smoking ever, very proud of that one, but I'm sure that goes for a lot of other people as well.
Yes, if Sam is near an enemy when you start a M&E, he will use hand to hand combat to take him out. It’s actually a great tactic to use, since it allows you to “chain” up your executions; you will immediately re-earn the right to use M&E since you killed an enemy with hand to hand. We spent a lot of time with Krav Maga experts to make sure we have lots of fast and efficient takedowns, and you’ll notice a lot of variety in how you perform CQC kills, so we think you’re going to have lots of fun with this. We put a lot of attention to detail into considerations such as whether or not the enemy has a weapon in their hand, what type of weapon it is, what direction and speed you’re attacking from and how you are armed, so you will feel a lot of variety in the hand to hand system.

But yeah, you might want to start your coffee experiment by making sure to put a decent amount of sugar and/or cream in it, as black coffee tastes like shit to most people who aren't long time coffee drinkers.
As for alcohol, while it is a very fun social lubricant, it can also become a crutch for a lot of people. I feel sorry for those who think they NEED it to have fun on a night out, rather than just enjoying some drinks in order to relax after a long day or week. Wine or mixed drinks might be your thing if you don't like beer. A white Russian might be a could mild flavored drink to give a try Just go easy, those bastards can sneak up on ya' haha.
I won't even get started on the various things I have "tried out", I'll start to sound like ManThatyouFear lol...

New Interview
We designed the demo with one main objective in mind: make it exciting and fun to play for as much people as possible; even for gamers who had never played Splinter Cell before but were into action games. With that in mind, we adapted the level design (less enemies, more projected texts, tutorials) as well as the AI for this demo to meet this objective. We also ran a lot of playtests and worked in conjunction with Microsoft’s people who have been really resourceful on this matter, and we feel that we found the right balance for a lot of gamer to have fun with this demo and still find it challenging.
The demo doesn’t feature the hardest enemies you’ll face in the final game. Remember, Sam will come up against more than just Black Arrow mercs (which is all you see in the demo). More capable enemies will have different levels of aggression and tactics. When you face more elite operatives in the realistic difficulty setting you will be challenged. A good example of this is when Sam goes up against other Splinter Cell agents.
A number of gamers have noted that the Mark & Execute feature could be abused during play. In the full game will it be less profound, and more tactical , as in you really have to choose wisely when to use it, rather than rely on it too readily?
Once you’ve played the full game you’ll see that M&E is a difficult feature to abuse. There are definite risks you take when trying to perform an Execute at the wrong time. Placement and timing are vital to using this new tool safely. You can and will die if you decide to pull off an M&E move while exposed and under fire. We’ve done a lot of internal testing to balance the game for M&E and ensure it’s not an overpowered tool. Also, don’t forget that you have to earn Execute tokens to pull off an M&E and this can often be easier said than done.
In the final build will players be able to mark light sources, this seems to be absent from the demo?
It was a design decision to remove the ability to mark light sources for M&E, however, you will still be able to mark traps and explosives. Of course, you can still shoot out lights the old-fashioned way.
How would you respond to the general gamers reactions to the demo and what would you say to them with regards to how the final build will play?
The level that the demo is based on does not play out exactly the same way in the final game. The difficulty level was tweaked to make the demo more accessible to a wider audience, this is especially true for the placement of the bad guys in the level. You can expect a much more challenging experience with the full game when played on “Realistic” difficulty.

On this page there's a video called distraction gameplay showing a number of various ways to use the sounds that your bullets would make as it hit various parts of the environment as distractions or to lure guards towards it.
It's funny, I never actually thought about trying any of that in all the times I played the demo. I also didn't notice that there was a pathway past that truck...

Things like the sonar start to distort even worse than in the demo when you move at a more normal speed while it's active.
http://www.gametrailers.com/video/launch-party-spl...
At their launch party the dev says that, compared to the demo, they've done some tweaking and realistic is going to be a bit more difficult than it was in the demo.
I'm really glad I went. It definitely solidified my purchase. Showed me that the game is difficult even on normal. Also stealth really is a factor. If you get spotted by one guy it can really screw everything up for you. Especially if it gets to the detected mode.
If you guys want to know more just let me know.
As far as the sonar goggles and black and white go. Neither of them are that big of a problem. Most people I saw only used the sonar when they first entered a room to get a general idea of where the enemies were. Seeing how you can't move and use the sonar at the same time it isn't over powered at all. It actually seemed like they changed it from the demo to where if you move at a normal speed it screws up your sonar a lot more than the demo.
The B&W is hardly noticeable. Not nearly as annoying as most people initially thought it was.
The Hunter mode (and I assume it's the same for the other D.O modes) have different areas you must clear in a level. You start off at the basic area and then move to more difficult ones with more guards and more obstacles. The first guy I played with didn't know what the hell he was doing (was some high school kid who thought he was hot shit) and just tried to run and gun while I was crouch walking my way through places. Right off the bat he got shot down. I mean as soon as he walked through the first doorway where there were guards. I ended up having to try and save his ass but the rest of the guards swarmed him and finished him off before I could revive him. Once a teammate dies the round is over.
The way the set up for everyone worked is that everyone had their own screen but only four people played at once. Separated off into two different groups. Once one team cleared a section it was clear for everyone else who played on that side. So it was basically just a continuation. The level didn't reset each time new people went to play. You just restarted from a checkpoint.
The reason I mentioned that is because everyone eventually got to the same area on both sides. The level with the stairs and turrets I spoke of earlier. No one could get past this area at all.
You have to play this game like the old Splinter Cells. You just also should incorporate the new features. There were many times where I didn't use M&E at all. Hell the only time I used sonar was when I first went into an area. The AI is really improved. If you try and just run straight at a guy to do a takedown kill he will counter it and put you into a choke hold. The only way out of this is to have your partner shoot him. There was a point where my partner had gotten shot down by a turret and as I was trying to save him I got grabbed because I was careless. I thought that if both team members were incapacitated like this the round would end but that wasn't the case. Because my partner could sit up and shoot we still had the opportunity to save ourselves. Somehow he managed to pull off the shot and save me so that in turn I could save him. It was a pretty amazing moment.
Every round the enemies spawn in a different area. Their patrols are also different each time. Everyone played on normal and it was a lot bigger challenge than realistic from the demo.
If anyone wants to know anything just ask and I'll do my best to answer.
