The UI is horrible. You have no good overview of your inventory whatsoever and it takes ages to go through it. Navigating the perk trees is weird too, sometimes the game just skips past perks? Not a huge deal, just weird. Not syaing Oblivion did it much better though, but i don't see how one shitty UI is in any way an excuse for another.

As for the graphics, the demos really have been set up to show the game in the very best light possible. Not that i find that particularly strange, but the regular scenerey looks a bit more drab than the shown set pieces.

Ye, I have only seen some screens before. Since the game was coming out, I decided to check out the live feed for good impressions. Then I saw the menus for the first time...

I have better use for my 40€ than buying Bloodmoon expansion for Oblivion :P Game still looks kinda cool and has some interesting things added. I'd rather experience the game when it's more fun to me :)

The UI is miles better than Oblivion and Fallout, and the game looks great!, but most important the game is fracking amazing!, loving every min of it so far, i started on the Expert difficulty level and every battle requires skill/thought and i'm loving it!!.

Oblivion and Fallout both have very shitty menus. They need to hire some more talented people, I am sure they could afford it.

The inventory is super easy man. I dont know what is so hard to know what you want is where.
Everything is in its category as it should be, except the shield shouldnt be in the Apparel (sp?) section but rather in weapons. But other than that, its extremely easy to navigate compared to say Oblivion and even Witcher 2 which is just plain weird.

And the skill/perk section is smooth, but when you want to check say up/left its a tad difficult to do that which is annoying.

I agree that they showed the best parts to showcase its visuals, but IMO they didnt show enough snowy mountains which I consider the best part of the game visually.
I just wish Bethesda would hurry up with the texture issue on the 360 because I dont have much problem with its graphics considering its scale of the game.

Also, didnt they say that they showed off alot of PC footage even though they lied and said it was the 360 with controller inputs? Something I read a a week ago or so.

I am yeah, but I'm currently in a lecture - for 2 more hours unfortunately. As far as I know my copy arrived this morning (don't know that for sure but it should have), so when I get back it's Skyrim time for a couple of hours.

Here is my character (level 2, had to restart to build him into a fast rogue type of character).

I know, he looks exactly like the old version lol.
With that armor he looks like a roman soldier or something :P

360 controller works fine on PC.

As for the UI it's not difficult to use, it's just not good. It's inconvenient, slow and shows too few items at a time.

Eh.. I disagree. I like that I can navigate, equip, etc. all w/ my left hand.

I'm surprised how samey this feels to me.. but I just started. Still. It looks and feels a lot like Oblivion. But.. uh.. duh I guess?

I'm not as crazy about it in conversation.. maybe I just need to turn subtitles on. This game has pretty so-so textures.. shadows.. lighting. Faces are less ugly. That's the big tech upgrade.

Regarding the race perks:

ORCS: Beserker
REDGUARDS: Adrenaline rush
WOOD ELF: Resist poison, resisit disease, command animals
NORD: Battlecry
KHAJIIT: Night-eye, claw attacks
IMPERIAL: Voice of the Emperor, find more coins when looting
HIGH ELF: Regenerate magicka more quickly
DARK ELF: Ancestor's Wrath (surround self in fire), resist fire
BRETON: Dragonskin (absorb spells), resist shock
ARGONIANS: Histskin (regenerate health quickly), resist disease 50%, breathe underwater

I rolled a dark elf battle mage in the end. How do you use these perks though? i was presuming that they happened on their own, as when I try to assign either trigger to the perk, the outlined arrow works differently to that of any other spell and won`t allow me to `use it on my own`.

I`ve yet to see my character `engulfed by flames` yet which is annoying grrrr.
