I'm having a blast with the game. 8 hours in, did few quests, not much. Loving it way more than oblivion for some reason, maybe it's the world. Got my home on Whiterun, and furnished it, small but looks neat. Been gathering lots books, and placed them on shelfs, it even organizes them :D

I even got used with the UI, with mouse and keyboard, kinda dig it, sure lots lists, but easy to go check the big ammount items you carrying.

Loving this game. :)

I agree Uruk!

I HATED Oblivion that i stopped within 1 hour.
With Skyrim, I dont want to stop playing it! Even though the melee combat is like Oblivion, everything else is perfection IMO for a fantasy setting.

And yeah, the sky looks magnificent at night.
And those strong winds on snowy mountains looks fantastic, great atmosphere.

Skyrim uses a lot of dynamic streaming systems, including textures. We’ve seen a few reports of certain textures temporarily scaling down on the Xbox 360, and not scaling back up. We have verified that this issue does not occur when playing off the disk and when the game is fully cached (not installed). Skyrim makes heavy use of the Xbox 360 caching system, and caches over the normal course of play while in menus or interiors. This cache can be wiped when other games are played or when the user manually removes it. We’re working on a solution in the next title update for those who have installed the game.

Hmmm time to try that out?

I feel the same as Sath. I stopped playing Oblivion 2-3 hours in because it was just too hard to get into. The clunky menu was a big part of it as was the inconvenience that you had to find out how the game works for yourself. On top of that I realized that I didn't want to play that character since I chose a class that couldn't do the stuff I wanted to do in the game.

So I stopped and never played it again.

I'm with Grift all the way. How can you love this but hate oblivion? The only reason i can think of is not giving Oblivion a fair shot or just being sweeped up in the hype so bad that Skyrim could be a complete turd and you'd still like it.

This could almost be a mod or expansion for oblivion :P

True is very easy to see why people could dislike Oblivion but love Skyrim, combat for one is allot more fun.

And some people have some pretty nonsensical and illogical opinions.. what's your point again? The game feels so much like Oblivion, and yet Oblivion is "garbage" and this is good? You're clearly in it for the lolz.

I said that AC2 was very good and that I hated AC, sometimes it happens, I have yet to play this but Im seeing several people on forums say that they hated Oblivion and yet they are loving Skyrim.

It's nonsensical in the same way that going form hating AC to loving AC2 is nonsensical. They are too similar to be able to hate one and love the other, unless there is some other factor to it than the quality of the game. Maybe some people get a mega-boner for poorly executed norse myhtology or something, i don't know, but the two gaems, side by side, are too similar in terms of gamepaly and content!

Because the game looks and feels like Oblivion. AC was a flawed game, with a lot of flawed game mechanics that AC2 repaired. Guess what? Skyrim doesn't do that. All of the combat bitchiness we've heard for the last several months? Yeah the combat still sorta sucks. If you like this game and you hate Oblivion it's for purely superficial reasons. I think the game is good, but it does nothing to set itself wildly apart from its predecessor.

Loving this and hating Oblivion is more like loving MW3 but hating MW2.

But ya know what? You guys are obviously entitled to whatever opinion you want. I'm glad you're enjoying the game. You should try Oblivion again. You might not hate it as much as you thought you did.

I guess its easier in the menu, the art is much more compelling and the classes arent so restricted from the getgo. You got more freedom to be who you want to be from start.
And the combat to be able to dual wield anything is great too. And the story is much more compelling and you fight unscripted dragons!

Skyrim is like Oblivion?
The change is as much as Ninja Gaiden 2 is from Ninja Gaiden Black, and its pretty big but core is still the same.

The game looks like Oblivion? Now thats "lolz".

I can def see why people dig this game over oblivion, Skyrim's world is great and the combat/gameplay is much easier to get into, i mean of course it feels similar to oblivion, as oblivion did to morrowind, but still both are different games, but when all is said and done Skyrim is a brilliant game.

The setting is different, but the world definitely feels very samey. I do think it's a better game, and obviously a tad batter looking. The art direction is definitely better but it's still pretty inconsistent in terms of quality.

The combat is still pretty wonky too.

Flash_Runner la qualité.... ou modifier la colorimétrie et retirer un filtre jaune sur un seul jeu en quelques clic. Et c'est pas sorcier, et c'est clairement un avantage sur PC. En plus des prix et des early. (il y a 1 Heure)
Flash_Runner Les galères avec les pilotes c'est du passé sur PC. Par contre c'est plsu chiant pour les shaders et les manettes ! Mais à côté de ça tu peux te faire une vrai exp personnalisée. Maximiser les fps.... (il y a 1 Heure)
CraCra Steam os est une sorte d'espoir pour y revenir (il y a 3 Heures)
CraCra je vois encore trop de gens autour de moi passer plus de temps a régler, télécharger des pilotes trop souvent a l'achat d'un nouveau jeu. Oui je joue sur moins bien mais je joue direct (il y a 3 Heures)
CraCra @GTB: Je connais le monde du PC, j'ai commencé à joué dessus en 84 avec 286DX puis 386.....mais stoppé totalement en +-2013 pour revenir et ne plus faire que sur consoles. ALors ou ca a évolué mais (il y a 3 Heures)
GTB mais encore 1 fois c'est mon exp, pour le type de joueur que je suis. Je joue assez peu aux AAA day-one par ex. Mais ces derniers mois (RE6 et tous les RE, GoW, Ratchet, Alien Iso, Returnal, des indés (il y a 4 Heures)
GTB Mon exp de jeu sur PC à 99% du temps c'est : j'achète, je dl et je joue. Pas de merdouille à faire, de bidouilles, pas de mod, pas de crash ou je ne sais quoi. (il y a 4 Heures)
