Codemasters has revealed a bunch of images from the development process of GRID. The images present different features in the game, through their development tools and it's always interesting to see stuff like this!

Codemasters information:
01: Basic 3D Stage. Terrain blocked in, track defined and play tested.
02: Background details fleshed out - mountains and hills from the region composited in.
03: Painting stage. Mountains painted up, and a sky painted in. Some basic specular hi-lights and shadows painted in.
04: Cars and lighting added. Shot lighting FX are defined, in game cars are added onto the track. All features represented (bloom, motion blur, volumetrics etc) will feature in game.

The crowd and the crash looks amazing but what the hell is wrong with the mountain in pic 6???

EDIT: My fault, not to scroll down ... :D ... Looks amazing as well!!!

I still hope the car- and gameplayphysic are still between PGR and Forza and the rollovers from the first trailer are still alive!!!

Probably because they didn't show this level, and games can improve over time? It didn't look far off from what we've seen, this could simply be taken through the replay mode.

I still hope that it has good gameplay.
While the Jamara video was okay, the Yokohama video was rather disappointing for me.

I knoda feel that the sunlight or light in general in this game tends to wash out the textures/colors. They went over the top with their visual effects. If you don't know what I mean then take a look at the mountain pic.

I liked the progress shot of the mountain track, but I think it's important to note that it does not add up to a ingame shot. It is all concept. Still, looks nice though.

edit: ok, didn't really read up on the codemasters info, before writing my comment... well. There you have it.. Times two. ;)

It would be nice if the atmosphere in the game would look as the 2nd picture in the 6th shot, i really don't know why they have to destroy this beautiful look with overused bloom, blur and the brown atmosphere.

holy crap, everyone needs to make sure they scroll down on that image of the mountains.... all i can say is DAYMN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah that's also what i dislike, they are overusing effects which makes the game look worse then better.

The 2nd mountain pic looks very clean and crisp, 3th is also nice, but it's already a bit more washed out and brown and the last is even worse

Eh... anyone else notice that horrendous looking statue? It DEFINITELY didn't look that shitty last time... The textures look pretty terrible, and in my opinion their wasting valuable resources on things like crowds, when it really just isn't needed. Your supposed to be going fast, not examining the crowd. And that shitty mountain picure might be to show what happens to LoD during DoF. Or it just looks shitty. And did no one look at the tree's in that picture? they look all unnatural and terrible. And I see brush strokes on that last image. Its a bit too good looking, though it could be a cinematic thing.

I'm not sure it will have the polish and realistic lighting of GT5, but it has some nice art direction.

They really have a bloom issue, the 3rd pic looks way better than the 4th, IMO.
Dirt had the same issue with bloom, I had the feeling there was a nuclear explosion in progress nearby while driving.
