I hope they find another good way to ballance this in BF3. Changing the recoil pattern might be the right way, BC2s/vietnam's recoil is predictable which makes these guns very accurate across the map. Judging by the demo video they've done exactly that.

Damn crouch-shotters. They need to implement some kind of delay/penalty.
I also don't know if it's possibly different on consoles. There's a lot of hitbox issues with this game, and a lot of it has to do with server lag. They've addressed this issue somewhat (last summer) by expanding hitboxes when there's player movement. It's a bit of a rough fix, but it works, I guess. It's also totally possible to get headshots on crouching opponents, so I sorta think that these issues are a little overblown. If you're dissatisfied with the advantage that crouching gives players, the best response is to crouch.

However, DICE boss Karl Magnus Troedsson admitted that developing the game on PC will inevitably lead to the non-360 and PS3 SKU being the most advanced option. "PC is the leading platform, conceptually, for this game, definitely. We are going to make this game on 360 and PlayStation 3 as well, [but] we need to scale it down to those platforms," he told the latest issue of PC Gamer in a special preview.

I hope that is fixed. I also hope that the cone-fire and damage system is not as bad as the Bad Company 2 versions (both console and PC, Console actually being an improvement over PC).

Fault line Episode 2. Ridiculously boring trailer for such a ridiculously exciting game. It still looks wonderful, and there's actually a lot of content in there that I wanted to see (crawling, rocket launcher, etc)--but seriously--YAWN. Oh and I'm a little disappointed that they didn't show the transition to the prone stance. I would very much like to see how they're handling stance changes. It makes me wonder if they've got that properly sorted yet.
Oh, and any quiet footage that ends with that amazing tune RANKANKAN KANKAN KA wins :)
