lol @ EA "buy on Origin and play 2 days earlier!"
guess what, 35% of those 2 days are gone and still no early "beta" key.

note: i'd buy it on origin anyway, since I'm in germany and have to buy the game in the UK, and since I don't want to wait 2 extra weeks at the end of next month for the game to arrive via snail mail, decided to buy it digitally.

I really don't enjoy playing the beta all that much. There is just too many bugs, mostly graphical, but also some minor gameplay annoyances (like the bipod not working properly, getting stuck in the geometry, no sound etc). Does anyone know which build that is?

Other than that everything seems quite promising. The feeling of the weapons is excellent and as far as I can see the balance between the classes is pretty good. I really like how the MGs behaves now, fell in love with the M249.

Biggest bummer of the Beta is Rush though. Just know the map, set up on a strategic position with an MG and mow the enemies down as they come rushing in to disarm the M-COM, rinse repeat.

I'm enjoying it much more than the alpha so far. Now the game was just as fun then, but I think the level has improved dramatically just by moving A on the first leg. I feel like there may be more punishment for changing stance, which annoys me, but I'll adjust. I just unlocked the M416, and while it's great, I'm stuck on Assault (Medic) until I get the G3. That was by far my favorite gun in the alpha.

After I unlock the G3 I'll start playing engi a bit too.

I don't know about the mobile spawn point. It's amazing.. and sorta super cheap. In rush you can hide it in your base before being pushed back, and then you can spawn behind the enemy spawn.

Flashlights are also a little ridiculous. They should be downright against the rules on servers w/ friendly fire enabled. It aint my fault if I shoot you because you're shining a torch in my face and I can't see anything.

Lucky bastard, you can actually play it. I've crashed more times today than my entire pc gaming time combined throughout my life.

The Nvidia drivers are terrible, combine that with the whole disconnected from server issue I'm lucky if I can get in for 3min at a time. I finally just threw in the towel and said ill wait for a patch, and if they don't, fuck it.

finally got my key yesterday at around 1AM (CET). was super surprised with Origin's speed. downloaded at 3.4MBs which is my max. the full 4GB in half an hour or so. played for 20 min or so, runs great. hard to judge anything. Though it's a bummer to have to use the browser. Won't be able to play now for a week, because of work.

I like battlelog. It's faster to navigate than BC2 or even BF2 in every possible way.

The only problem I've had are server disconnects, which are pretty damn annoying anyway. I'm running nvidia's beta driver for BF3, haven't had any GPU specific issues that I'm aware of.

Jesus, whats up with the geometry? Sometimes I literally sink into the ground for no apparent reason, are geometry deformations not displaying properly (eg not at all)?

If that's what the finished product will play like I'd be majorly pissed. Even for a beta it has an enormous amount of bugs and glitches.

Yea there's a problem with Metro.. there's no clipping issues in Caspian. What's strange about the whole thing is that there were no such issues in the alpha. Yes, you'd clip on invisible debris from time to time, but nothing like this.

Hopefully that's an easy fix. It also only really happens on the first leg of Metro.

The AEK is my new favorite toy. :D

Not being able to change my graphics settings outside of a match pisses me off. With everything completely turned off I'm not getting 60fps, so having to tinker with it and then restart isn't winning me over. I'll be watching this game's full release and reading reviews at launch. I'm done with this until I feel like upgrading.

I hate that kind of stuff. Just give us a normal main menu that so I can change settings/controls and quit the game when ever the fuck I want.. Now I have to be alive and in the game to leave :S

What do you mean? If you want to leave you can just hit alt-F4 at any time. Boom. Left.

The settings thing is silly, but that aside, I actually think battlelog is great. It's much faster than BF2 and BC2 in terms of accessing menus, launching and quiting, etc.

Sometimes i love it, sometimes i hate it. The clipping issues is huge, it was even part of BC2 although not as bad. Theres just something with the netcode that makes the game feel cartoony or fake, it just doesnt FEEL solid. COD, for all its failings nails the feeling of running around the world. Sure they have made massive strides from BC2 in terms of the feel of it, but its still a bit short of the mark.
