360: I had connection issues for a good 30 minutes and then got bounced out of 2 of 3 games after. My friend had horrible lag and I saw a lot of teleporting this morning as well.
There really isnt any point playing it on consoles in it's current state. It's broken in almost every concievable way. I'm waiting for retail. See just how 'fixed' everything really is.

I wish they'd let me unlock the G3 in the beta. I've finished the assault kit (as far as I can tell--the last two guns don't say "not in beta" on b.log but they don't appear to be accepting my progress) and I still don't really want to play anything else. I want to play engi but I think assault (medic) is the way to roll in this level anyway. There's cool gear in the other kits, but the guns aren't as fun (for me). I guess I can pop the scope off a sniper rifle and rock that a bit.. or start working towards unlocking C4 on support.. or maybe go all in as Engi next. The EOD may be fun to mess with.

Friendly fire being off is ridiculous. The EOD makes a ton of noise and is easy to kill, but it probably still needs to be nerfed. The only reason that it (and the MAV) + C4 are a big deal is because you can't harm your teams vehicles. It makes it way to easy to abuse. But everything about FF being off is silly. I hope they add a filter to the server browser for FF servers so we don't have to jump through hoops to find them. They probably won't though.

The EOD should be able to arm and kill though.. and using it as a C4 bomb seems like a perfectly reasonable tactic to me.. about as reasonable as using explosives on infantry generally gets.

The rest of that video isn't even bad. People aren't paying attention. The thing makes a ton of fuckin noise and all you have to do is shoot it heh.. I mean really.. there are people trying to stand on it at the end while they disarm! Now that's stupid.

I can't believe the hate this game is getting. I know the beta is buggy just now but it's still a fantastic game and I will at least wait til release to judge the game properly.

Underneath the ton of bugs and glitches, there is indeed a brilliant game, but the problem is that the current state of the game is more like a pre alpha build that the general public should never experience to be honest. EA are crazy releasing this build so close to its release, they really have shot themselves in the foot and I think Bf3 will take a big hit in sales because of it. I'm still buying it day one but I'm prepared to for a very rocky start.

I don't see the point in cancelling your pre order. The game will get fixed regardless of how many issues are still there at launch.


Don't you lose that whole VIP thing if you cancel the pre order too?

The PC beta is mostly functional. The worst aspects boil down to two known bugs (damage and clipping). The worst thing about the beta is the squad system, and it's by design. The bugs don't prevent it from being pretty dang enjoyable. I've played for maybe 10+ hours since they removed terrain deformation and I have experienced all of two people glitching. It's the best team multiplayer game I've played in several years. Why would you not buy this game for some "other interesting game" that's not nearly as interesting as this one?

You haven't played the finished product; you don't know if it works or not. Judging by the gameplay I've seen, i'd say it works pretty well. If it was a demo, it would have been polished up for the public, but since it's a beta, it is only there to give people a taste of the game, while eradicating glitches and bugs.

Client side netcode is a bitch. So many WTF deaths. I really do like the game. I just wish they'd have opened Caspian Border. Forcing us to play a poor man's COD when BF was always about open warfare was a fool's idea. That said, all I could get is store credit anyway, so roll on October 15th. Not looking to have to re-unlock everything. Was just recently when I started kicking ass with new weapons.

They closed the Caspian Border servers.

This map actually makes me want to like rush, but ironically, vehicles and advanced kit equipment are going to ruin it anyway. The tight infantry gameplay shines here.
