Just finished the Campaign (don't shoot me! I always play through the campaign first!) Anyway, I don't get why it got so much flak. Sure it's really linear, but it's like a more realistic COD, and you can make sense of the story, which has a bit more gravitas. I actually had a twinge of PTSD while playing the tank portion, and that's crazy. I told my brother to be careful of that spot because he actually was a Tanker in OIF 1, and he had a harder time adjusting when he got back than I did. I really enjoyed the SP, now on to the MP! No looking back, baby!!

Why is Operation Firestorm (CQ) so boring? It's one of my least favourite maps, I've rarely seen anyone get more than 10 kills on it. It's desperately underpopulated.

Lol, you can really tell the COD players. I understand that you'll always have lone wolves and such in every game (BF included), but when I see these guys running around, it makes me think instantly of COD- cracks me up...

Is there a game mode setup on xbox 360, that you can set up a solo room in multiplayer and hop in jets or choppers and learn the controls?

I'm having a difficult time in Rush trying to pilot vehicles, and don't want to waste tickets experimenting on learning the controls.

Any suggestions.

I typically lone wolf because my team/squad sucks. If we're playing Rush and the damn objective is beeping, SOMEBODY has to go to it!

Also try to avoid the guys with shotguns that fire grenades, the guys with n00b tubes and the guys who just sit 10 miles away and rain mortars.

I can already tell this game is going to piss me off. But when things go well, it's decent

I don't have the game but you could join some low populated servers. I dunno if empty servers let you run around?

I don't really notice anything with noob tubes or mortars yet.
Nothing really stands out as "omg so teh broken" yet.

Mortars actually take quite a bit of skill from what my friend tells me too.


As for vehicle practice. Play Rush and on attack just fuck around in the vehicles at your spawn.

I had one of these mortar guys yesterday. He was hiding in their spawn with no way to kill him from outside. So I got a mortar myself and killed him 3 times until he quit. ^^

Now I love mortars. It's quite hard to kill someone, too. People need to be hit at least 2 times, unless you're killing another mortar.

I am liking MP, but the IQ is pretty harsh. 1943 has better IQ on the 360. A lot of little niggles (e.g. you cannot see your air speed in the frog foot!!) but overall MP is nice.

Dont you just move a curser over the map and press fire? Doesnt sound difficult to me, sounds skill-less and cheap? As for their damage ability, means fuck all when the oposing team has 4 mortar guys raining hell. Mortar should be line of sight, non of this mini-map aiming bullshit.

kinda defeats the function of a mortar, lol. It's called indirect fire for a reason ;)

You don't die from a single hit of a mortar. If you're hit by one you have to relocate fast since the second is definitely coming. It's very useful if you work with a squad that points enemy positions out, but it's far from being overpowered (has more uses in rush though). It's not a killing machine, far easier to suppress the enemy with LMGs.

As i said, maybe with one mortar, how about 4?

@froz, they need to make it take SOME skill. Whats wrong with a line of sight, gredade launcher approach? Where you at least need to guage the ark of the launch. Atm all you do is pick a point of the map and press fire. It's cheap as hell and massively overpowered if there is more then 1 person doing it.

I played co-op mission 2 last night with the chopper and it helped out greatly in practicing my flying. (the chopper anyways)


I need to try my skills at multiplayer now.

True enough. It should have to balance, but I remember the Artillery in BC1 was a pain and I still miss it. It made things really unpredictable, and you could still hunt the 'lil fuckers down.
