DO WANT
This is exactly the sort of patch I don't want. You can bet there will be roll backs on some of the tweaks in the following patch. A lot of this is your typical DICE overreaction to fan whining.
I'm at least looking forward to the actual fixes, explosives tweaks, and MAV nerf. I just want to get this patch over with. I won't pre-judge but I'm as concerned as anything. It's giving me the worst kinds of BF2 flashbacks. DICE needs to show some backbone. I don't want things as fundamental as movement changing several months in. But I'll have to roll with the punches, anyway. That's what I signed up for. This isn't new territory for DICE.
I miss mod tools.
PS. The soflam already auto targets. Now it's even better I guess.
OMG I wish they'd just post it. I've been waiting for weeks. Ever since they posted the initial patch notes it made the current version seem like a waste of time. I hope they settle on some of this stuff soon. I want them to leave shit like movement alone. I'm sure it will play pretty well (as I'm sure it mostly already does).. stability is a thing I hoped they'd aim for. They haven't.
Weapon tweaks are going to go on and on, especially as they add weapons in the DLC.. hopefully they've dialed in stuff like movement after this.
Tip: drop the grip. Now.
Edit: Played some more. I don't think the current model is awful (any more than I thought it was necessary). I hope the following tweaks will be more subtle, and that we can start to find a groove here where the game can live and die. I'm no fan of a revolving door when it comes to core balance and gameplay stuffs. I suspect weapons will continue to be tweaked. I hope attachments, movement, etc are near final (I'd take them rolled back too!).
its kinda good, played a round of canals rush, some dude was flying the heli, keeping it at a high altitude while the team members where bailing from there and assaulting the mcoms directly. Perfect round, a lot of fun! Jeep horns are cool too

I know which one you like more :3
People are already complaining about the L85A2. The endless cycle of bitching and "fixing" continues. I don't like how the M16A3 just got pushed to the side (by the silencer nerf, no less), but I am ready for stability now. The only thing (infantry) that I think needs to be rolled back is suppression. It's absolutely ridiculous right now, even with the cover specialization.
I still haven't put time into armor or air to comment on that. I'm afraid to. I just really hope we can start to see some stability in this game sooner than later. I expect they will continue to tweak weapons, because they'll have to when they add dozens more in the upcoming DLC packs, but they need to learn something about subtlety. They say they're interested in supporting eSports, but this is a bit like changing the size of the net half way through the Football season.

makes it colourful, Wake reminds me of BF1943 ver now :D
Suppression is fucking stupid in this patch. I hope they reverse that sooner than later. I know turn around kills aren't terribly common in the first place, but it really over emphasizes first sight. It's more game breaking to infantry combat than anything they "fixed" in the first place. I think I'm going to keep running the L85A2 for a while regardless. I hate being forced to change weapons, but it's clearly better than any M16A3 config I've used this week. The suppressor and grip re-design (nerf) really hurt the M16.
Apart from suppression, infantry is still fine, but that's a pretty big concession. If you disregard the actual fixes (MAV abuse, frag rounds, explosive persistence), I still think infy was 10x better in the previous version.. but that's mostly thanks to how truly devastating suppression now is to accuracy (and how easily one is now fully suppressed).
I still haven't formed a full opinion regarding the changes to vehicle vs. infantry balance.. other than to say that it's just as shocking to someone who actively plays the game. I'm still too busy making sure I still kick butt on the ground.
Edit: Or maybe the AK-74M. Holy shit it's good now!
The AK-74M and Magnum are so silly awesome now.
Anyways, I like to use Assault and Support alot with some engineer here and there, but I like to mostly help my team with reviving/health and giving them ammo as much as possible.
My question is...which weapon + attachment reduces the crazy recoil? lol
The recoil is way more than Killzone 3 and that annoys me. I have read that after the last patch not all attachments are universal to all weapons (assault rifle fan here). I have tried various ones but I cant find a good combo.
I must have a scope because I loathe the iron sight in this game, covered so much of my view I cant see shit from it.
Any tips guys?
Pre-patch the easy answer was M16A3 + Grip + Silencer, but it's garbage now. The grip specifically seems to fuck up in combination with a few attachments on quite a few guns. M16 + silencer, flash suppressor, or heavy barrel are all worth trying still. This week I've run the L85A2 (comes w/ Back to Karkand) w/ the grip and heavy barrel, which is really easy to control, and the AK-74M w/ just the heavy barrel, which is deadly accurate (and deals great damage) if you tap out controlled bursts. The L85A2 is probably the easiest assault rifle to control right now. The AN-94 also has an amazingly accurate first shot. Heavy barrel actually increases virtual recoil, but it grants an awesome long range accuracy bonus now.
Serious: watch some of xfactor's videos. It's the best thing you can do early on for your game. Just keep in mind that some of the previous info (specifically concerning movements like the "super worm" and how to use the M16A3) are a little dated post patch.
I will definitely check on Xfactor on youtube and see whats that all about.
Also, is there a way to get the other team's AR to the others?
Like the US team has certain AR that RUS team doesnt.
I wish both teams had same weapons and attachments when you unlock, feels annoying to constantly do it when you swap teams.
I also read that the forgrip reduces the left and right weapon sway but the accuracy isnt as good for long range. I just gotta experiment alot, but I will definitely check some of the weapon combos you mentioned.
I got alot of work to do and start unlocking stuff.
Thing is I keep swapping classes between Assault and Support, this takes longer time to start unlocking stuff.
Both classes are great for sure considering both are extremely helpful for your team.
Its weird how Assault is basically Medic and Support is assault for ammo.
Support should be for riving and health while Assault should be for ammo, mixed up names, a bit confusing.
I definitely agree with the AK-74M. I'm glad he's bitching about suppression too. It's such incredible bullshit now.
And yeah, you unlock faction weapons for the other side. They're the last unlock for every kid.

But yeah, it does reward shitty aim, but at the same time its making the enemy unaware of your team so they can flank. But I agree that the radius of the suppression is quite wide. I mean just shoot at the same direction everyone else is shooting not even near enemy and it counts lol.
I was really pro-L85A2 earlier this week, but I the AK is winning me over very quickly. The M16A3 and AK-74M are both faction weapons though, so to use either on the other side, you need to finish unlocking your kit. If you have Back 2 Karkand you can unlock the L85A2 in a single round, and that gun is still pretty awesome too. The AN-94 is getting a lot of love from other players too.
BTW.. 3600 DPI is overkill for a game like this. You don't want uber sensitivity.
