Shipment is awesome! Play a knife and nades only game and you'll see what fun is all about! Is honestly better than Halo swords, I swear.

It's fun with a very small group of people and if you know not to take it too seriously. Best suited for FFA.. hilariously bad for objective type games :)

I hate shipment.. Whenever it comes up on a server I play on (usually 16-24 player TDM servers) I refuse to join a team and just spectate the round.. Usually it's over within 5 minutes anyway (unless the server uses a timelimit instead of scorelimit, then I just leave and find another server).. It's the dumbest map ever imho.. But a lot of people like dumb maps I guess, look at the popularity of stupid aimmaps in CS for example.. CoD4 needs more good big maps if you ask me, hopefully we'll see some good community work come out of the editor soon..

I also still wonder how IW is gonna handle DLC maps on the consoles and PC.. They probably want to charge for them on the consoles, but then how are they gonna handle the PC side of things? What will consolegamers say if they release the same maps for free on the PC? Interesting situation imho.. Savest option for them would be not not ever release any official maps (besides winter crash), just let the community handle it themself with the editor..

According to some people (deft's one of them!) IW can't charge for content on the 360 that they release for free on the PC--so that scenario isn't going to happen. My guess is that we'll either get additional free content (that may or may not be multiplatform) or we'll see booster packs/premium dlc (thanks EA!) that would almost certainly be multiplatform. It's also pretty cool/interesting that IW is considering porting some of the more popular custom maps to the consoles.

I would LOVE to see a real expansion pack as well, but I guess we'll see. They seem to be dying off and COD2 never had one.. so yeah.. we'll see!

Yeah it's fun, for about 5 minutes.. Those maps just gets boring for me real fast in games like CoD4 or CS etc.. I need more room for tactical play.. That's what I enjoy, outsmarting other players, not just outaiming them (which I'm pretty good at aswell, so that's not it)..

If I want mindless fragging I usually play Quake4 (yes, I'm one of those 150 people in the world that plays it)..

Hey Q4 is good.. I might reinstall it after I get all my upgrade parts (which should be soon) but honestly, after going back to Q3A (which more people play) I'm not sure why I would.

Fixed server browser not showing all of the servers
The "hold [ ] to steady" sniper scope hint will only appear if you can use itt
Fixed game not recognizing IWDs existing if they are all in fs_basepath and none are in the main/ folder
Made mod scripts able to change stats
Allow developer_script for mulitiplayer modding
Fixed map rotation errors with usermaps
Fixed minimap not showing up in the menu for usermaps
Mod tools will now work with other languages

CTF mod is out as well, not too many servers running it yet but I suspect that number will grow very soon. IW should really just go ahead and make it an official mode, it is in every other COD game after all and it beats the pants off of Domination (which sucks sorta sucks anyway).

Hmm.. cost? Should be interesting to see how they handle this.. with Village out there on the PC, it's pretty obvious that the community has no trouble ripping content from the single player to create new MP maps--how will this effect their ability to securely sell add ons for the PC? Generally speaking, I don't think people will buy them in large numbers on the PC, but they obviously can't give them away if they intend to try to sell them on another platform.

This is somewhat troubling.

Certainly would be the easiest approach, but given recent trends it's unrealistic to expect them to be free. I agree, they should be free but there's a handful of ways IW could handle this. I want to play new official maps too, but there's no way I will support this model on the PC. EA has tried to implement premium DLC into the Battlefield franchise and I can't imagine booster packs have sold well at all.. basically no body plays them at least.

If I was IW I would definately make them free if it wanted another shot at the top game on Live crown. It was a bit of a coup (none the less deserved mind) to pull off for that week a while ago.

Then again, did it not charge for COD2 maps when that was out on PC? That game had shocking online support to begin with as well.
