Yeah, top time now is 57:8xx, but I've only seen one person get under the 58:00 mark.

I only played briefly today, but wasn't able to beat my best time yet. Will report back as soon as I break the world record!

Got mine down to 1:00:333

Played for half an hour straight, but only got in a couple of laps where I didn't screw up in the first or second corner. It sucks especially when you know you have to finish an entire round first before you can attempt again, so to speak. But on the plus, you can experiment without having to worry about your time in that remaining bit untill the next lap.

Loving the game (demo) so far. It's gone from a 'rental/second-hand-purchase' to a 'day-one-must-have'.

I've just run a 1:00,153 time after not touching the demo for two days. I've changed my racing line quite a bit. It actually looked like a real car driven by a real racing driver... now I'm confident I can run sub 1 minute times.

It just feels so rewarding. Seriously I never quite had this feeling with any racer I played before, it's easy to see why Inside Simracing were so impressed with FM3 at the E3. I thought that maybe I'll buy FM3 when it's cheap, now it's hard to justify not buying it day one... maybe I'll even buy a wheel for this, if it feels as natural as the pad controls I'm all over it.

Also Jato, I believe when you rewind the race just before the start/finish line the moment you cross the line again it counts as fresh certified lap.

I wish you could get your friends' ghosts. You can DL the #1 though, but it is ssooooo much faster than me I cannot even hang past the first corner. But getting some of you guys within 2 seconds would help a lot!

Fun game. A lot of technical issues, but a HUGE step above FM2. Single button works well for my son as well, so this is a must buy day 1.

I kid you not! 1/1000th of a second! :P

I've picked up on a few of my 'sore-spots', so when I really get into it I'm convinced I can get under the 1:00 and possibly in the low 59's. Btw, That rewind thing works and definitely helps, but be carefull as the last lap you completed will be uncertified if you do this. So only use it when your last lap wasn't your best time!

Suzuka is a great track, looks quite a bit better. On a side note... Been loving the cockpit view, most usable cockpit i've ever used, although not as cool looking (interms of effects and animations) as PGR3/4, or maybe nfs:shift (yet to play). Been using it on my lap times as my only gripes with most cockpit views is the slower frame rate and muffled engine sounds (essential for manual shift).

I just played NFS:S, and let me tell you, that last S does not stand for "shift" as far as I'm concerned. Take away a letter and you get the true game title. Tracks look good, cars look god-awful. Reflections look downright pathetic--they seem to be running at sub-15fps. Handling is a complete joke. I don't know what worse, this or GRID's handling, I'm thinking this. It's total bs, piece of s*** game.

Wow man, I feel bad for you. That really sucks, they truly imported some models. I don't know exactly how things might work, but I think it's evident they have some truly high-poly model that is down/upgraded as needed. That also probably means that for FM4 they will have the same exact original mistakes because the car was modeled wrong to begin with. Oh well...what can we do, maybe play GT5 if you are looking for exceptional models.

haha, it's pretty lame considering T10 definitely knows it's messed up considering how often I showed it around the forza forums, ever since Forza 1. Che even PM'd me and said he'd talk to one of the modelers if I stopped posting about it when forza 2 came out, lol.

Oh well, what the hey.

Just played the demo today. I cant take the handling seriously enough to bother with lap times, but it is one hell of an experience. The cockpit effects, engine roar, tire squeal and graphics are all terrific in my opinion. GRID had similar characteristics (including the best damage i've ever seen), but the arcadey/crappy handling turned my off buying the game.

Shift's handling is strange in a way i cant put my finger on, although I do have all the assists off. I'll keep playing for now, hopefully I'll get used to it. Bare in mind I am a huge fan of both PGRs and FORZA's handling and physics (just so you dont think I'm a sim nut).

I've just played this game and i genuinely cant believe how awful this game plays, its shocking.

That's not saying much considering forza 2's photomode sucks. They compress the shit out of the images when you upload them to forza.net, not to mention the images are all rendered at the same resolution, same AF, same AA, with the same details as the game. The fact that the framebuffer grab of forza 3 looks similar to that shit photomode screen says a lot. Not bagging on Forza 3's graphics but the comparison shot isn't meant to show which game looks better, not to mention most games look better in person than in framebuffer screens anyway.

I'm also pretty sure that tool knew he was lying when he said Forza 3's photomode is the same as in-game minus added AA and AF; "here at t10 we don't bullshot". How do you play a game for 2 years, observe its development cycle, and not realize the photomode screens swap in a higher-poly car model compared to the actual game models. It's very noticeable even to a non-graphics whore.
