Looks almost photo-real in this vid. The environment looks like one of the themes for the course maker.

Retail GT5 gameplay:

More here.

Your GT5 prologue so called gameplay shot was a bit lie too (look at the wheel above), or GT5 looks less good than Prologue, which I don't think is the case. It simply depends on the image you choose to show.
You know I just knew it was going to be so easy to find stuff like that for GT5. I didn't know they downgraded their models so much for gameplay though. That's why I just ignore certain dumb posts with the typical shot that is just mean to feed the fanboys. I know what I see on TV, and I just don't see the point. I also remember the videos posted criticizing Forza 3 rollovers, how unrealistic they were, etc, and certain glitch about it with one car. Just wait until the equivalent comes up for GT5.

@vspectra,

I didn't mean don't exaggerate as in not believing you, but you make it sound like they had such an extreme amount of work to do, and threw in simple things that T10 had to do to, which just made that list seem bigger (I mentioned them in my post). And I know T10 outsourced lots of things, my point is that no one should care. We are buying a game, who cares how they come to make it. Does not make T10 look bad, nor does it make PD look good from my view.

I see results, and I don't care how they come to them other than the amount of time I have to wait to see/play them. And I don't see why anyone should care otherwise. If PD had decided to have 1 guy do all the cars, and he did them in this time frame, all the power to that guy, but that doesn't change anything for me. I couldn't care less. The problem is still there.
With turn10 have over 200 employees, turn10 already had considerable amount of work cut out for them. They should have ended up having a much better lighting system, more tracks returning from Forza 1, in addition to weather effects and night races for Forza 3.
Meh, that's really opinion. With 6 years on the bag, I could also say PD should have ended up with more premium cars, better sounds, decent collisions, more customization, no silly bugs, better physics, AI, and consistency across the board. In T10's case, sure, I would have loved those features and more of less expected them, but when you see what the competition has brought in almost 6 years, now I give more credit to T10/MS.
PD already established most of their work in the actual game outside of the car models, so I doubt they'll spend as much time and manpower on those aspects. They'll have many more guys being able to model cars for the next game, so I doubt it's something they're worrying about.
And how exactly would that be different for T10? PD needs a livery editor, T10 needs weather, PD needs X, and T10 needs Y.
Considering it's been 3 games already and t10 hasn't done jack shit to fix any of the old cars, even the ones that looks worse than others, I'm not expecting anything from t10. what's not to get?
Well, I can say it's been 5 GT games and they still have pinball style collisions, should I expect them to fix that for the next game, or use your logic and say why should I expect them to fix that? I agree some cars will still look bad in the next Forza, and GT will have some of the same old issues for their next release. I don't see any room for discussion on this area. They both have their downfalls in different areas. I find them both annoying.

Both companies had a large amount of work to do, same goes for any game, but like i've mentioned many times, PD doing everything in-house gives them much more workload than T10 (which is what you're disagreeing with). I'm not asking you to care about outsourcing, I'm pointing out that outsourcing means t10 had less to worry about, meaning PD's to-do-list should and is bigger in the end, which includes features they're offering that the competition doesn't have.
I see results, and I don't care how they come to them other than the amount of time I have to wait to see/play them. And I don't see why anyone should care otherwise. I think outsourcing to third world countries where they don't seem to have as much motivation to get as good looking results is an issue for me. Granted, some cars do look great, others not so much, especially when it comes to the interior modeling. So I care and see an importance in how the modeling is approached and not just the amount of time involved. There's a sacrifice made in both the way T10 and PD does their modeling.

Everything in this discussion has been opinion so far, so I don't see how that affects what I said when compared to anything else we've talked about. So it's okay to demand 800 premium cars, but it's only an opinion to think F3 should have had more gameplay features when most of their modeling was outsourced?

PD also brought features the competition doesn't have throughout these 5+ years. It's been 5 years for both series, both series having features that the other game doesn't, so I don't see why I should give t10 or any other company more credit.

That's bullcrap. They might not have skills, they might not have resources or rush the jobbecause ofdeadlines, but I don't think motivation is true. Regardless, Amalfi and Catalunya are some of the better looking tracks in GT5.

At the end of the day I'm with Lebato on this one. Team size, outsourcing, development time shouldnt matter to you, What matters atthe end of the day is if the game is worth your $60, that's it.

It's a third world country filled with Vietnamese modelers. How much money do you think they're making? It's a time consuming process where you stare at a computer screen all day, and they probably aren't car enthusiasts either, so why should they be motivated to create the best model they possibly can? We're talking about precision in car models, not fictitious tracks where people won't even bother to compare if a mountain is accurately portrayed.

If that's the case, then what are people complaining about? because GT5 has more gameplay features than any other racing game that's out, and I'm paying for the same price as the other games.

I'm not a car nut, so I don't car about realistic representation of cars as long as they look fine.

I don't know what people are complaining about. PD obviously shipped a bunch of titles since GT4 came out (that motorcycle game on PSP, GT5 Prologue, GT PSP),so they were quite busy during that time... At the end of the day I do think we should judge the game regardless of overblown expectations, but compare it to currently existing titles in terms of value.

That is the most ridiculous thing I have read in the past few pages. You are making a bunch of assumptions here. They may get paid very low, but it's more likely than not a more than decent salary relative to where they live. That's the whole point of outsourcing. You are making assumptions about the freaking way of thinking they may have. How is keeping your job for motivation? What if these people are trying to make a name for themselves and hope for a long term job? And most importantly, you seem to be assuming there is no quality assurance on T10's part. Maybe you are right, but maybe you are not, but the fact is that argument makes no sense. I could also go ahead and assume that because you are working for PD, you just got comfortable and lazy, and thus take forever to do thing like a government worker. Yeah, let's assume stuff because it has no limits and it's just fun.

Why would a Ferrari factory worker even care about putting an engine together correctly. This poor soul has to go to work and do the same thing over an over, stand there putting the same engine together over and over. When he sees how much the cars are being sold for, he is getting paid a terrible salary. Really, there is no motivation for that guy to do his job right, and naturally Ferrari engines blow--well, some of them.

Miata in GT5 seems poorly textured and modelled, not just that the car itself isn't too hot. My understanding is that's a "standard" car? That screenshot has many issues outside of the car model, too.

with polygonal edges that angular, i doubt that. although i've heard there are some cars that have both a premium AND a standard version. why i dont know, but could be the reason as to why you've seen it with a cockpit view.

LOL, this guy is something else.

Cool video though.

And obviously, that's a standard car, and I don't even know why there is even a doubt. The interior shadowing in those videos (see related videos from the link) are great, and something that just adds tons to the look of the game. That's something I have always called T10 for.

The building isn't that bad truth to be told. They couldn't have spent too much resources on it considering it's (a) behind the tree (b) The rest though isn't that positive for sure :P
