Getting a perfect score in a review has never meant the title in question is perfect. Everyone knows that...
And there's still no way a game this far from it deserves a perfect score.. but.. famitsu.. lol.

I don't think he was trying to laugh at the notion of the game being "perfect" that would be silly for someone to imply such a thing, he laughed about the perfect "score" that is equally ridiculous on its own.

Only because you guys don't think so; plenty of outlets have given it 5/5, 10/10 or whatever its equivalent is. Many of us agree in that it's the best game we've played all year - maybe for longer than that. Perhaps too many games are awarded a 'perfect score' nowadays, but why have it there if you're not gonna award it?

Gaming sites generally have review guidelines for what each of their scores mean (e.g. Eurogamer).

Yeah but how could you give a flawed game like Skyrim 10/10? It doesn't make any sense. Going through the main story line takes what, 5 hours at best and is a serious lackluster in terms of storytelling and drama. The perk trees are unblanaced, the game is glitchy as all hell and combat is still as floaty and lacking in feedback as ever, not to mention some of their visual misses like the faceted normal maps. You might like it but there are still some pretty damn glaring flaws that can't be overlooked. There is no way the game deserves a 10/10 no matter what guidelines you have.

How is there no maximum level? 81 is the max level if you hit ever skill at 100.

You're not actually going to make it to 80 perks MTYF. That shit would take forever to do legitimately. Don't take all of enchanting or smithing, for sure, or you'll certainly come up short in other areas. You should plan for 50 or less perks up front.. that way you're not trying to fill out skills when you're already at level 50.

And 40/40? Just Famitsu continuing to make themselves look irrelevant. Skyrim.. perfect? LOL.
oh there the stats i would like yes, but i am prioritizing like enchanting would come last in for instance, i am working on 50 because i know you get 50 points for sure, everything after is bonus.

True, for me the experience i have playing the game for outweighs the flaws, i would give KOTOR 11/10 if is could, as the experience i had with that game was exceptional, i would give Skyrim 9/10 but i can understand why the masses would give perfect scores, reviewers and gamers alike.

I havent played the game since SW The Old Republic beta, but today i went back to it, I am not in mood to play it anymore lol

Considering the combat is a bore and its a chore to me, what I did was I put the difficulty to Novice for a bit quicker kills and more chance to do finishers, and I am just gonna focus on finish the main quest.
And considering you can keep going with side quests...etc. after finish the main quest, I may get back to it when I am in mood again.
Just feel I have to atleast finish the main story considering I really enjoy the whole Skyrim story with the dragon stuff.

Why stop there? This shit should go to like 100! It's as good as 10 other perfect scores! I think there must be something horribly wrong with reviews if people think that scores higher than 10 are needed to describe how good something is.

This is exactly why a game like Skyrim should never hit a 10. 10's should be reserved for games that excel at everything they do.

Once you start giving scores and reviews based solely on personal experience and don't even admit flaws both review and score becomes utterly irrelevant. A review obviously needs to contain personal opinions on stuff but you also need to be able to see others ides to have a balanced opinion on anything, worth of others attention, hence someone giving KotOR 11/10 is silyl and completely uírelevant to anyone else, because the game is massively flawed. Still a great game by any standards, but with it's share of glaring mistakes.

This is his personal opinion with the game and what he would score it, not some pro review, and he has not denied its flaws, but said even with them his overall experience was amazing.

But his opinion, when it's that skewed, is worthless to anyone but himself. I mean, what are we here supposed to do with that info? I mean, yeah it's good for what Grift refers to as "circle jerking", but i don't see the point of that. The only info that post contains is that he really REALLY likes KotOR. Yay, i guess?
