I'm finding it hard to understand what all the fuss was about in the first place.

I became a "good player" in this game and made it to level 42 within a short span of time. I haven't played it in two weeks now though.
I have a hard time finding a reason to continue playing anymore, which is somewhat sad. Both my roommates even have 360's and the game.
Maybe it's just rough with the load times and constantly replaying the same goddamn maps all the time. You can only play it for so long before you get tired of it. My roommates haven't played it in a long time either.
I don't think camping is really a worthwhile complaint though. You're going to have that in any fps. Plus if you run around in this game you get punished usually, so you're almost forced to be a bit slow moving.
Maybe if campers weren't rewarded with prizes for sitting in the corner, and punished by horrible spawns when they moved, they would actually bother to get good.

It's still possible to play aggressively in MW2, when you're good. The Problem is that camping is rewarded with Nukes and Chopper Gunner, so a lot of people stick to it making it for an average player the harder to play aggressive and do well.
Of course you get campers in practically every multiplayer game, but never before have I had such an issue with it. COD4 never had that problem.

TDM is the worst offender on any platform though. Objectives (usually) make people.. play. You do get some campers in S&D though.
There anybody who's been playing it on the 360 and enjoying it? GT is Ronsauce...hit me up. *awaits crickets chirping*
Zapp Brannigan: If we can hit that bull's-eye, the rest of the dominoes will fall like a house of cards...Checkmate.
I think ive put in a total of 50+ complaints against jav glitchers, dont think ive had a game over the past 2 days that haven't had at least 1 (usually much more) glitcher. It really is frustrating seeing them come at you, you either let em knife you or take em out and kill half ur own team.
I hope they do end up banning them, and i wish they would get a fix in asap, for that and the lag / host changes.
Anyhow, I haven't seen a single nuke and only a handful of AC130s. I am surprised at how MW2 really doesn't allow wholesale rapage of the newbs who cannot play. Hit boxes are fairly big and there is a lot of magnatism and adhesion.
If you are seeing a ton of nukes and high end killstreaks my only real conclusion is you are FEEDING the other team streaks.
Sorry, the other team isn't going to get 25 kills without YOU giving them long streaks of death.
So the question is why are you dieing 3-5 times in a row without kills? I admit, I sometimes die 3 or 4 times in a row and it is all because I spawn and RUSH. When I stop, take a good look where I am, find some action, and flank intelligently I don't have this problem.
Use the perimeter and elevation, ambush choke points, and flank firefights you will stop feeding the other team 25+ kill streaks!

After reading the complaints (getting owned all the time by streaks + savaged by air vehicles and certain perks) it really seems a lot of people refuse to adjust to the gameplay style. I know when I started Halo I had to adjust to the rebounding shields, ranged weapons, melee, nades, etc and it took some practice. Some things that worked in other shooters just DID NOT WORK in H3.
Really, if you are seeing Nukes all the time that means you are feeding the other team carelessly through either being bad (no fault there) or playing stupidly and blaming the game. MW2 is pretty brutal and is not forgiving. Unlike H3 where a mistep out of cover => being hit, but rarely dead, in MW2 if you step out you could be instant dead by most weapons. Sure all games have blind corners where a shottie is instant death and the issue with snipers, but MW2 levels the field where a lot of guns are instantly brutal.
If you aren't adjusting for this, well, thanks for the free kills >:D

EDIT: I wasnt complaining about nukes, think ive seen maybe 4 in over 40 hours of play in ground war.
Edit 2: And the system itself is built to screw players over, ive been on teams that were more afk than playing. Then ive had the system spawn me in the same spot on skidrow 3 times in a row with a guy at my feet knifing me down. The spawn system can really be terrible with people spawning in the most awkward positions.
We seem to have totally different expereinces with the game.
That said, if you want to avoid camping get out of TDM. A lot of clans are grouped together and it encourages camping. Do objective modes as this only allows "camping" around objectives--which allows concentrated use of flanking, nades, etc to dispose of "campers" (i.e. people protecting objectives).

All of the perks and general diversity that the game allows for levels out the playing field. Even stuff like adhesion and auto-aim levels out the playing field. The game would probably allow for the "wholesale rapage of noobs" more freely if that stuff weren't there at all. It's a bit like a newbie going into a game of CS1.6 (or.. promod! ask phaethon or firewire ;)) for the first time... they're far more likely to get destroyed there than they are in Call of Duty anything.
It wouldn't make sense to make a game for noobs and then punish them for playing the game :)
But that's hardly the point. The simple truth is that these streaks are there and they are like a carrot in front of you. Say you've got 5 kills, the missile got you a double kill and you're just 4 kills away from chopper gunner. What would over 99% of players do in this case? Most would camp it out (or like me, play extremely defensively).
The way you set up your streaks determines a lot of your play style. Most people set their streaks way too high and chase after it the whole game. Streaks are the whole game, really. The whole MP rotates around it. It was bearable in CoD4, where they more or less just boosted your high K/D ratio, it's not ok in MW2.
Eventually it will even out and more people start using Javelins/Stingers. I only played 3 matches this WE, at least one was pretty enjoyable and the kill streaks were shot down instantly. I also had a match where we got a whopping 4 AC130s (probably through care packages, I always get ammo), they weren't able to shoot down a single one and got spawn raped.
Anyway, the whole concept of the unlockables is fucked up. For a large part of players they are the driving force that makes them play the game. The focus shifts away from the core gameplay to something as artificial as perks. That's why I can safely say that I prefer Halo over CoD, it's a lot more enjoyable to play it with/against people who keep coming back for the game play's sake and not cause they need to grind for that next level.
#1 example it doesn't work: No one cares to play SC's mode and MW2 is the best selling shooter ever.
Yep, perfect parallel :P
