Oh, and I also, like szaromir, didn't buy either version of Final Fantasy 13. I went to a small 4 day getaway with friends and family where a PS3 and FF13 were present. I put in like a combined 22 hours composed of what had to be 3 10PM-4AM play sessions and like 2 or 3 hours of play earlier in the day, and came away absolutely disgusted with what I played. Square doesn't know how to make Final Fantasy games anymore, imo. And then they make weird excuses about the move to hi-def and why it would be too costly to do certain things when other devs that clearly don't have their kind of money seem to get by just fine.

There should be a required IQ test at UPS. this is just a complete joke.

A CORRECT STREET NUMBER IS NEEDED FOR DELIVERY. UPS IS ATTEMPTING TO OBTAIN THIS INFORMATION
Not only can they NOT find my street number, even though I called and they have all the accurate information, I was now just told on the phone that they got in touch with the driver and he's saying that he doesn't have my package, even though he's one and the same person that supposedly attempted delivery and claimed that he couldn't find my house. First off, that's absolutely impossible; there's no way anybody could miss my house with the massive street number right there for all to see. On top of this nonsense, I've been here outside for a good part of the damn day with a laptop sitting on my porch. The UPS guy did not come to my house and is claiming on the phone that he did.
i think the piece of shit stole my damn game. It's been happening more or less to various other people and a few friends in the general area whenever they ordered games, but this is the first time I've had it happen to me. Calling credit card company now to have them remove charge from my card. No way in hell I'm paying for something I didn't, and likely will not receive, since they have absolutely no idea where my damn game is.
To make matters even worse, this is a 2nd Day Air package that should've gotten to me much sooner than today.

Basically same story, claimed they had delivered but it wasn't true. The driver may not be knowingly lying though, sometimes they deliver to the wrong house. I once received a package from a "neighbor" a block down my street.
I say do what any reasonable, self-respected gamer would do. Arm yourself and confront the driver, challenge him to a one to one fight to the death. When the fight starts, throw some dirt into his eyes, and kick him in the nuts. Take him to a low-lit restroom and smash his head into the urinals, then in your best Sam Fisher voice ask him, "Where. is. my. GAME!!!" while you punch him in the face. Throw him at the mirror with enough force for him to shatter it. Eventually he will spill the beans I'm sure.
Mods, stop changing my SIG! I'm going to end up banning you!
I called them up promptly, explained what happened, and they immediately removed the charge from my card.
lol, although, I'll admit, I'm certainly pissed off enough to want to smash someone's head into a urinal, fisher style :P
I was waiting for this damn thing literally since release and basically all weekend. Almost counting the hours or half hour intervals that went by until I'd have this damn game. It pisses me off because, this sorta crap, I've been hearing for some time now, is pretty regular for this area, only I've never been "hit" before, so to speak. It's a regular case where my next door neighbor, for example, which loves him some ps3, orders his games usually in fives, and usually nothing less than that. It's a constant thing where, if the package isn't showcasing obvious signs of an attempt being made to neatly open and reseal it, there's a case where one of his five games come up missing. Then there are friends who live in the same general area that also point out having similar things happen to them, to the point that they completely stopped ordering from the more obvious places, like EBgames or even Amazon, and have been making purchases through more unorthodox sources.
My friends are pretty much in agreement that what the drivers often do when they deliver stuff to you and they are trying to gain a bit of insight into what you ordered, is that they initiate small talk about gaming, and usually in all your excitement at just receiving whatever game it is you've been waiting on, while also finding out that you're chit chatting with a fellow gamer, you'll more than likely reveal that you just got this or that game, and how you can't wait to for this or that to come out. Just like that they know you're the type to order games online. Now, I'm not suggesting that all UPS employees are this dishonest, but there are surely some bad apples out there, especially in my area as there seems to be a high concentration of, "Oops, I couldn't find the house" "Nobody was there when I arrived" "The package was handed to someone from inside the house" "I don't think that one was ever on my truck" crap going on.
In one of the more extreme cases, my friend literally saw a ups driver much further up on his block, friend was coming from the store, attempting to hand off what was clearly his package to some dude in a blue camry. Box was torn at the sides exposing his copy of Gears 2. If my friend hadn't actually attempted to walk over to the UPS driver with the intention to see if he had a delivery for his address, he wouldn't have realized that the package the guy just planned on handing off clearly had his name and address on it.
And to think that one of those aholes just got themselves a brand new copy of Conviction that they didn't pay for. And if you call up the damn local UPS expecting some heads to roll they act as if there's no way possible their drivers could have tampered with property belonging to customers, even as you are pointing out the inconsistensies present in the driver's story. How do you have the exact address to my house, in full, and the truck not remotely make its way onto my block. Then without setting foot near my house, I would know since I was on the porch, make a ludicrous claim like "Correct Street Number is needed for delivery" then not too long after I call complaining, the story changes to, "I don't have that package" when you were supposedly about to deliver it, "if only you could find the correct house."
So pissed right now, I'm just going to go to sleep. Damnit man.

Just because you don't have one shining, ideal option - ultimate, undetected stealth - to aspire to doesn't make this in any way one sided. Unless of course you just settle for playing it like a shooter, but that's like playing Tony Hawk and just doing ollies through the entire game.
Although upgrading weapons do make them considerably more dependable, it does eventually turn into more of a completionist thing than something proper useful. It is a nice way of awarding you something tangible for being super versatile and playing the game to the fullest, but I doubt many will care once they've found their favourite sets of weapon loadouts. You wind up picking noisy/damagy/long rangey for when you wanna go for murder, silent/mid range/low mark&execute when you wanna go for stealthy aggressive, and silent/close range/high mark&execute for minimum conflict stealth. In addition there'll just be a bunch of weapons you upgrade for the sake of it (and the weapons expert achievement, of course).
Everyone will have their prefered loadout though so the variety is obviously justified, but the incentive to earn points may be lowered as you warm to a particular set of weapons. It does provide an excellent list of things to attempt if you just enjoy playing the game though, of course. :)
Coming up on the end again now. M7 exploded so I won't be doing an opinion of it for a while. I can say that I love Sam Fisher, for me it's great to just be able to experience the character in a different set of situations to the ones we've experienced for five games. I can sorta understand that people have trouble letting go of the past games, but at the same time I'm really happy that we have this new, different, awesome game, and I think it's great that it's offered a platform for the "fiction" of Splinter Cell and for Sam Fisher as a character to grow.

They really weren't kidding about the game being more difficult than the demo. There are a much larger concentration of enemies with all sorts of patterns that they follow, or sometimes change. The mark and execute isn't something that you can just abuse at all lol. You alert enemies of your presence, much less to the point that they actually spot you, and you're in some truly serious you know what.
God I'm loving this game, though, I really like the challenge. I can see myself playing through this quite a number of times.

I don't have very much room for error at all. There are so many enemies that are so incredibly aggressive, pushing up on your position, performing flanks on ya, tossing grenades or flashbangs.
Normal may actually give me more freedom to feel like a badass in just my first playthrough, because, right now, I feel like a little girl :P
I didn't actually get around to buying Gears 2, but if I did, I definitely wouldn't have tried horde mode :P

But yeah, Realistic is a blast when you've got your different tactics down proper and you're really comfortable with getting around really quickly and doing subtle stuff with the controls like canceling out of a "next cover" run to get around quicker and things like that.
On Realistic, the feel of a situation becomes so distinct and tangible in an awesome way. You can sorta feel the pressure rising and that it gets out of hand and envelops you if you don't handle the building pressure somehow, and you can likewise feel that you are overtaking a situation and handling it when you do successfully employ your tactics. It's rewarding in a way that feels similar to an RTS when you either circumvent the enemy's defenses, or by brute force, overwhelming the enemy units. Of course, in Conviction you're just one guy, but the overview you get, being able to survey an area and effectively surround your enemy by moving in the shadows or above the enemy actually gives you a comparable sensation. From there, it's about attacking the situation using cunning diversion or overwhelming aggresstion. Or, you know, shades inbetween.
